As a budget traveler, I think this hostel has a really high value-performnce ratio. The dorm room (with 3 bunk beds for 6 ladies) which I stayed was very clean. Good location, it is just near the train station in Hualien. The owner, Sunny and the staff were very nice, if you wanna get some information of a day-trip tour/...

I went alone during the weekend of the Moon Festival, so the hostel had a BBQ party planned for the Sunday Night. I got to meet a lot of new people and we played eating games (not drinking games) because there was a lot of food left and everybody was full, so the loser in each game had to eat....

Most important to know , Taiwan is not touristic. I have been travelling all over the country. I can tell that everybody has to make this trip in this country. People are so polite , nature is fantastic. Food is the best if you like asian food. I hope I have given you in a nutshell a very good reason...

This hostel had everything I came to Hualien for. It's beautiful and peaceful, but fun at the same time. The rooms are spacious and have nice balconies, beds, and bathrooms. The first floor is a comfortable common room, great for meeting people, with a full kitchen. But the best thing about Colorful Taiwan Hostel is the people. Gloria is incredibly...

Walking distance from the train station, lovely staff that will be happy to help you arrange any tours you might want to go on, clean dorms, free water - I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend Colorful Taiwan to any backpacker visiting Hualien.

Their motto is "come as a tourist, stay as a guest, leave as a friend". I felt exactly like that – warm and homey. Good location. Located the back entrance train and bus station (to Taroko). Lots of eatery, bakery and 24 hours convenience store nearby around 10 minutes walk. Bicycle is available for rent. Stayed in female dorm –...

Colorful Taiwan Hostel was a great place to base myself in Hualien for Taroko and a trip down Highway 11. The staff is super friendly and I will echo another review on here that you will likely leave as a friend. The hostel itself is super clean with free wifi and full kitchen. It is located a few blocks behind...

The location is indeed close to the train station from where you can rent cars or scooters to go up to the taroko park. The host is gentle and quiet and very helpful with recommendations. Great place for a base to see the magical taroko park.

Colorful Taiwan Hostel is located near Hualien train station, 20-30 minutes walk away from Ziqiang Night Market, 40 minutes walk away from Hualien City. If you can cycle, they have bicycles available for rent. The hostel is clean, with a couple of common areas where you can get to know other travellers, or just spend some quiet time by yourself...
