Clean and boutique feel, with a beautiful koi pond in the centre of the hostel. Close to the train station, bike rentals and scooter rentals, delicious restaurants and everything you may need. Although all of the above is great, what makes this place special is the people there! Nita and her staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful. When I...

Most amazing hostel we had in Taiwan. The staff is very friendly and they do everything in their power to help you with your needs. The design of the rooms is newly made and very stylish. Everything is super clean and the hostel owns a grey cat which makes this place even nicer!

This Hostel was a very good choice of our Taiwan Frend. It was clean an looking beautiful and relaxed. At the evening you kann have 1 or 2 beer at the bar. Is 15 min walk to the trainstation. Close are one 7/11 and a other small supermarket.

Although a bit of a distance from downtown, staff are welcoming and helpful and always up for a good time. Venture out into the bar during the evenings to get to know staff and other travellers. P.s. Ask them about Taiwanese Red Bull!

Location was not exactly near the train station, and given the many road junctions, I needed Google Maps to find it at first. People were amazing, and hosts know a number of interesting people around who make for great conversation. A pity there were not more rooms/beds, limiting opportunities to meet more fellow backpackers. There was all-day aircon (if needed),...

I stayed for two nights at Journey Hostel and would highly recommend it! Very clean dorm rooms and bathrooms. There are lockers available to put your valuables in (they use keys, no need to bring your own lock). The shared bathroom is very clean and has shampoo, soap. Nita, one of the hostel staff, is awesome, and the place definitely...

First and one possible negative which I might be wrong about: There seemed to be no hot water in the showers as there are no individual hot water heaters (usually flats/guest houses in Asia have them rather than a central water heater) and there seemed to be no central hot water - that would be a problem in winter but...

It was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience. The staff and their friends were very friendly and great to hang out with after a full day of activities. The room was clean, bed was okay with comfy sheets. Bathroom was clean too with free soap and shampoo. You can rent a towel for...

Journey hostel is a great place to base your self for exploring Hualien. It's a short 10 minute walk to the night market and 10 minutes in the other direction to the train station. The hostel is clean and very homey. My only complaint was that my room was a bit loud because of the location on the second floor...
