As all the other reviews state, yes, Surat Thani is an absolute dump. Horrendous amount of traffic, no restaurants and over persistent taxi drivers.... We had to stay as we were flying from here to KL, Malaysia, early in the morning and couldn't rely on the ferries arriving on time! But, we found the One Hotel thanks to tripadvisor :)...

Surat Thani is a dump, a total dump! You should only stay in this town if you really want to see how crap your average country town in Thailand is, take my word for it it's crap! Do yourself a favour and get yourself out to the Islands straight away and avoid this place. If you really must stay in...

As we have been travelling around Thailand, we have stopped overin Surat Thani twice, both for one night. After carefully researching Allah hotels in this area, this was quite clearly the best, however it was still very average, if not under average. Upon arrival here, after Nearly being scammed by a taxi driver (do not get out if they stop...

Don't mind just a stop over while waiting for flight in Surat thani airport. However do encounter some strange experience. Have anyone stay in room 201 before? Room is spacious for the price. Breakfast was good.

the room delivered as promised. Clean and new. But, we were as many others, only in Surat Thani to sleep and catch an early flight. Despite our ears being stuffed with earplugs, we still would hear that damned karaoke music from the streetbar getting louder and louder. They kept going until 2am. I usually dont complain about noise, but when...

If I could present an award for the best value hotel in the world, this would definitely come in the top five. I stayed two nights (both public holidays), and the room rate was 1,050 Baht including a sumptuous buffet breakfast and VAT. Laundry just THB20 for a tee, 25 for shorts. A spotlessly clean room that in terms of...

Their reservation system is arbitrary. We have called in and made bookings, and they will randomly give away your room, or call back and tell you the standard room you booked one or two weeks ago, is not available as of your arrival date today. But, we have a deluxe room for 400 baht more. How about that? Is that...

Come on, its Surat Thani, I only stayed one night because of my flight arrangement. Glad I chose this hotel - large rooms, separate bathroom and toilet and strong AC. Staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was quite a feast for the price you paid. You can sense that the management is trying to present the hotel in the...

“Just get the cheapest one you can find. I had booked the larger "grand deluxe" room, because it looked so nice in the photos. In reality, it was not very grand or deluxe. A cheaper "superior" room would have suited the purpose just as well, and saved me 200 baht.”

“Well I asked for a room far away from the Karaoke and got one facing the rear parking lot as the Karaoke was in the front of the hotel. But the noise level of the Karaoke was still extremely loud all night long.”

“Our room on the 5th floor was better than the room on the 3rd floor. Ask for a higher floor. This should also help with the karaoke noise.”
