This is a bit of a hidden gem and we were very happy to find it on TripAdvisor. Tucked away in an alley just outside of the busy area of Chiang Rai, Baan Soontree has cute bungalow-style rooms with spacious bathrooms, a beautifully kept swimming pool and beautiful surrounding gardens, and a helpful, friendly staff. It was especially quiet while...

The hotel is a little way out from the centre but all tuk tuk drivers we came across knew it. We had no trouble finding a driver as soon as we stepped off the bus from Chiang Mai. Fare was always 80 baht. The hotel is clean with a nice pool. The room was spacious with storage for 2 suitcases...

Tranquile hide out at the (almost) centre of Chiang Rai. Nice rooms and staff. To the centre short taxi meter or tuktuk ride. Good basis to explore surroundings up to Laos/Birma border and surroundings

This is a little gem, very nice hotel and pool and staff are friendly. Only complaint is it is a bit far out of town and it's a little bit expensive. Pool is good but you need to watch the children as it's not completely children friendly and there can also be a bit of noise from corridors.

Worst customer service I've ever come across!had to move rooms 3 times at check in because they kept messing up the booking!staff speak barely any English which makes it very difficult to get any help of info.Im not sure if they have had previous bad experiences with guests but they are not very trusting-few examples, asked us to pay upfront at...

Situated at the outside of Chiang Rai - 20 minutes walking to the centre. Return to the hotel by tuk-tuk (60 THB) We had a beautiful, very large and very clean room with a separate bathroom and a sitting room with a large terrace The inner lining of the room is completely in wood. The hotel has a beautiful garden...

Just a short stay and all I needed was somewhere reasonably central, clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my 2 nights and 2 breakfasts at Baan Soontree. Staff were friendly and very helpful, the spacious detached bungalow "room" (verandah, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom) was shining clean, and the poolside breakfast buffet, which included a chef offering omelets, scrambled or fried...

Second time at Baan Soontree resort, this time i spent 2 weeks there and enjoyed every minute , Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean with really good air conditioning system, rooms are also cleaned everyday, nothing better than coming back to the hotel after a long day out to a clean and tidy room. Breakfast is your usual Thai mix...

Our only reason to be in Chiang Rai was to use it as a jumping off point for a 3 day trek to the hill tribe villages outside the city and we were being picked up by the trekking place so it didn't matter where we stayed and we chose on the basis of price and basic amenities. Baan Soontree...
