Platoo Restaurant is an efficiently run seafood restaurant on the beach south of Cha Am. The staff are connected by earphone radios, so orders are entered quickly and bills presented within a few minutes. This is a large operation, with several seating buildings, most open to the ocean breezes. We saw a few large tour busses in the parking lot,...

We liked this restaurant so much we went there twice during our 6 day stay. We were travelling with friends who had been there before and they recommended it. They were right. The food was excellent and at a very reasonable price (especially compared to downtown Hua Hin) if you like Thai seafood this is the place to go. It...

It's hidden in the beach. Sea Food! Sea Food!! Sea Food!!! At its best... Fresh... Cheap... Variety.. It is very local... don't expect great ambiance but you will never regret on the local tasty fresh Thai sea food for reasonable price.

The signature dishs are all about mackerel which are the same as restaurant 's name. I enjoyed the foods very much. Also, the beachfront was pretty but unfortunately it was too windy when my family went there. The staffs were ok..not pay attention much sometimes. Overall was good.

we had a simple fish meal at this beachside restaurant but found the staff not to helpful . A very popular place with the Thai people especially at week ends but as tourists we were not to impressed with staff .Food served not as we had requested ,so it was a disappointing visit.

The name is appealing for Thais as it reminds us of home cooking. Platoo (small maccerel) was and is always the most favorite fish in all households to go along with Namprik (chilli dip). The place is large and sets right by the beach. Tables are big. Services were quick. Prices were reasonable. We ordered simple dishes such as stir-fried...

Ate there last year and thought we would try it again today. All the staff are the most miserable people I have ever met in the whole of Thailand. No manners whatsoever and glare if you wait for your change. That is if any of the staff will actually acknowledge that you want to pay. The same miserable service as...

Great Thai food at a reasonable price despite at a tourist area. Located just next to Novotel Cha Am Beach. Thanks to a local guide that told us this place where the patrons are mostly locals. Evening can have meal on the beach itself while lunch at noon is very cooling with nice sea breeze. Will definately come again.

I have been to the Platoo many times over the last 8 years and each time the standard improves. This is a Thai restaurant so don't expect the normal western standards. The surroundings are rustic, but the beach location is beautiful. The food as a seafood bias and you can tell that Thais love the place. Try it for a...

“Don't bother eating there. Try Wan's place for good food and superb service. About 100 meters from seven eleven outside Novotel.”
