I had visited Xanadu in June 2013 as part of our trip to Thailand. Wanting to do an offbeat take on a place which is heavily visited by tourists from all corners of the globe, we zeroed in on Kanchanaburi and the enchanting pictures of Xanadu2008 captured our hearts; we were not disappointed with the actual visit. The property almost...

We (family and i kid) and a friend of us stayed there for 2 nights. The resort is directly on the River Khwai, the rooms are nice and clean, the pool has a perfect size to cool down on hot days. Dennis the owner is very welcoming, always good for a chat or a beer and he will give you...

Great setting but quite a way out of town. Friendly host. Clean room. Helpful in booking transport. Did not eat at the restaurant so cannot comment. Had no interaction with staff beyond the owner. My problem was that I had booked and paid for two nights. We got held up in Bangkok so I emailed and rang the owner saying...

Just called the number given on the website and it was confirmed over the phone. No advance, no complications. When I reached, room was ready. Dennis also arranged...

Stayed here for 3 nights. Lovely setting along the river Kwai. Rooms big clean & good size bathroom. Very comfortable. Breakfast on the decking above the river. Lovely pool. Everyone friendly. Lovely gardens. Dennis really helpful for advice on local attractions. Elephant sanctuary is a must do. Ride the train over the bridge. Great holiday. My second visit.

Great resort in a beautiful location on the river. Dennis is a friendly knowledgable host who gives excellent local advice on attractions etc. His wife Nee cooks amazing, fresh Thai food at great value for money, a super place to return to and enjoy a cool beer by the river or pool. The Tuk Tuks are 200baht into town which...

As the first of four stops on our Thailand trip, we spent a little less than a week with Dennis at Xanadu. We were 14 people and was extremely well taken care of. Rooms are big with big bath rooms, beds are a bit hard but ok, AC in all rooms (and they are functioning:-)) and the pool area is...

Stayed at Xanadu for a couple of nights in October as a base for exploring attractions around Kanchanaburi such as Elephant World, Hellfire Pass, War Cemetry and Erawan Waterfalls. Rooms were a good size and very clean and included fresh flowers every day. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location very picturesque. Would definitely stay here again if we ever...

Fantastic Stay We had 5 fantastic nights at Xanadu. Dennis is a great host and very friendly with good advice what to see, and what not to see. The boatride he recommended from the Bridge to a cave and the war cemetery was excellent with great value. He also helped us with transfer from the airport, and on to Koh...
