Had a lovely memorable few days at this charming hidden gem. Was a perfect getaway from the bustle of city life. A retreat where I could rest & recharge the mind, body & soul. Each night slept deeply in the stylish comfortable ensuite room which was paired with a tranquil view of mother nature. Woke up to a home cooked yummy breakfast with fully stocked self service kitchen. Great amenities, fully equipped gym. Paired my morning Wim Hof breathe work with a an ice bath (which was prepared on request). Sending my true gratitude to Aaron & his team for creating a home from home experience.
Tree Roots was an amazing reset for both the mind and body. I have to admit that I was initially a little apprehensive as it was located on the outskirts of Rayong with very little in the way of attractions but this turned out to be a good thing as I could focus on the people there and the training. It also has two lovely friendly dogs that love pats and company. Every morning, there's training and Tree Roots attracts the most interesting and friendly people from former law enforcement to miniature painters. In the evenings there's also open mat. Tree Roots becomes like a self enclosed community. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and there is a small pool to dip in. Internet connection was good (unless there's a storm and it'll need to be reset). It also has a vast private library which was a nice place to catch up on a bit of reading or do some work. There's also a well equipped gym to do weights. Breakfast is provided every morning with coffee and while simple it had variety and was healthy and refreshing. Laundry is self service though the staff will sometimes help you dry them in the sun. The beach is an 8 minute walk away and also near a 7-11 where you can pick up amenities or cash. They have an affiliated restaurant that does Thai food and you can eat on the beach. If you want to go around, you can either rent a moped or book a Grab bike (car is hard to get) to Rayong city proper which is about half an hour away. Would recommend this to anybody who wants to get away from it all and get some martial arts training in while still having creature comforts! Would definitely recommend getting some privates in especially if Rodney is at the retreat!…
This place does something good to you. Its a beautiful place for reflecting and relaxing and/or doing a lot of physical exercise. Going for long walks and going to the beach. Aaron has done amazing art pieces from driftwood to be enjoyed all over the place together with a lot of other art like paintings and tresaure pieces. Aaron is the perfect host and will make sure you are looked after. Will always come back to this place.
Tree Roots epitomizes the difference between a resort and a retreat, the peaceful ambience is almost overwhelming. The rooms are gorgeous, great facilities and both owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The gym and sporting facilities are world class, and the resort is extrtemely pet friendly; highly recommended.
After initially 8 days, plus returning for 2 more days, my overall experience with Tree Roots is a positive one! I'd like to emphasize that this is not a "full service" hotel, rather an oasis of tranquility and peace where it's easy to lower the shoulders, be oneself and feel at home. Help yourself to a "self service" breakfast whenever awake and hungry. Enjoy the tranquility of the green garden, find an interesting book to read in the library, take self defense /martial arts lessons with Aaron, or do your own workouts in the gym area. Chat with other guests, maybe share a pizza in the evening, - or simply retreat from all "to dos"and revitalise in your own company. Sharing my impressions in some collages.
Small and tranquil resort located within walking distance to the nearby beach. Owner is very accomodating. A great place to relax by yourself, with your loved one or with your team. Great facilities for boxing, yoga and general fitness.
Recently had the pleasure of staying here. Aaron is a great host and offers a range of pursuits from yoga, surfing, martial arts and loads more aimed at all proficiency levels. Some great books in his personal library to look through. Nice to be in some open space with fresh air and no noise pollution.
Stayed here in August as part of a martial arts group. Tree roots has a wicked gym and training facilities. When we weren't training we chilled by the pool or went down the beach which is walking distance. We hired a scooter to have a look around and it was very safe. The food on the beachside is fresh and delicious. This place is so relaxing and the Owner Aaron has done an excellent job in buliding the rooms and facilities. I will definitely stay here again. I loved it.
We came here after bustling, frantic Colombo and stayed longer than intended as it was so peaceful. It is what it says on the tin: a retreat; if you want a lively party place do not check in! Although there is plenty of life at the bottom of the lane with myriad eating places along the beach so you can have the best of both worlds. We did not partake of the many physical activities on offer by Aaron as we were happy to relax and explore the area: Rayong Town and the aquarium to name but two. The bungalows, gardens and pool are very well kept - the fan and a/c are best we’ve experienced on our travels ... so needed! Great beds and pillows for good nights sleep before ample breakfast! Congrats on a great retreat Aaron!
Located close to local laid back beach, in a quiet street, Tree Roots really is a place to charge your batteries. Sitting in a beautiful tropical garden at the pool in front of your large and confortable bedroom. The beds are great and will give you a solid night of sleep. A nice breakfast in the coffeeshop with eggs, fruit and strong coffee. To relax or train your body, there is a gym and martial arts area that has every piece of equipment. The relax and train your mind, head to the library and make your choice from the vaste collection. Or head out to the beach.. We found some of the best local seafood restaurants we had in Thailand nearby. Tree Roots retreat is a genuine treat. Congrats to it's owners Aaron and Bim for making this happen and being such authentic and welcoming hosts!…
