Visiting Tapestry at Classic Kameo Rayong on Songkran Festival. A choice of Chinese set fulfils my tummy with 2 dim sums, shrimp wonton soup, fried noodle with seabass and black soya gravy, and lastly chewy rice cake in ginger water.
The room was big and very clean. The bed was firm but not too firm so for me it was good sleeping quality. Big breakfast area and was great with all kind of food and fresh fruits. Big parking area. Hotel provided bottles of drinking water for each room which was useful.
Likes - stable wifi - comfortable bed - helpful front desk staff - Very nice pool, gym and jacuzzi - good location to restaurants, massage spas and convenience stores Dislikes / To improve - floor not carpeted - no bathtub - no condiments provided (coffee, tea) - room cleanliness could be better
Overall quite happy with this hotel, room was big and had a split unit of air conditioner, however had a tough time finding the switch to turn on the air cond. Bathroom and bed was fine. Break fast at ground floor is spacious and serve a wide variety of food.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived at the Kameo. It was down a side street and appeared to be a little bit away from the centre of the city. As usual with Thai hotels, the welcome was warm and reception very efficient. The room itself was large, airy and comfortable with free bottled water available. Wifi worked perfectly in the room. The toilet area was clean with a large walk in shower. The hotel was pretty large with a good pool area and gym. Every time I went it was always quiet and looked to be underused, perfect for a bit of chill time ! The restaurant served a variety of food and I never had a bad meal there. Breakfasts similarly was buffet style with a good selection. For the most part the hotel was used by Business people who were working in Rayong City. ..probably because of its location it lends itself to this type of customer rather than tourists. Outside the hotel you can walk to a few other restaurants if you fancy a change...plus there is the usual 7-11 just around the corner if you need anything the hotel can't provide. All in all a good business style hotel !…
A couple of friends and myself had the pleasure to attend the Christmas tree lighting party at Classic Kameo hotel in Rayong. A very attentive staff, wide (and free) range of food both warm and cold and a selection of drinks (I particularly enjoyed the glühwein), several shows, a game of wheel of fortune and nice Christmas decorations made this evening an unforgettable one. Thank you to the organising staff for a flawless evening.
Staying here for 5 nights and on the last day, we get a warm “place” in the elevator! We waited for 5 mins for we call for help! But the emergency NOT working! We has been trying for 15-20 mins before we successfully get a phone reception within the elevator and started to call for help from the receptionist. We been confined in the elevator for about 35-40mins before we got ourselves a fresh air! Thanks to AIS telco to provide wide coverage else we will be fainted in the elevator due to lacking of air! There is no air ventilation within the lift. To the management, please do consider the safety point working for the elevators or at least the siren to alert someone nearby or the control room. This is totally DISAPPOINTED! 4-5-stars rated?? Where is the safety!!?!!
This is certainly a nice hotel, well built, well kept and clean room; spacious and comfortable. However they seem to have fallen foul of "only game in town" syndrome, or perhaps having trained the friendliness out of their staff in the mistaken belief that good service requires stand offishness. Breakfast buffet was large and varied but the egg chef had no idea what a poached egg was, fair enough, but he hadn't been given the skills to tell me he didn't know or couldn't serve. My pet peeve also turned up, charging extra for an espresso for someone who has already included breakfast - in this case 180 baht to press a button, even if the beans are higher quality that is gourmet coffee price. They do appear to be trying very hard with a different range of food type promotions, concerts, chefs advertised but honestly I would (& have, in the past week) give higher scores for older, less well kept resorts with friendly staff who've been given the confidence to be themselves. If I come back to Rayong I might stay again, but looking on TripAdvisor they'd better watch out because it seems they are not the only game in town.…
