I really enjoyed my stay at Hostel Colonial, it was very clean and a very calm place. The fire was going which was nice because it was very cold, the breakfast was just about right. The beds were amazingly comfortable. If you want to rest this is the place to go, not to mention that it is the cheapest hostel...

This was the cheapest double room in town when we visited, and it was a great choice. Hostel Colonial is on a large old house so there's a nice "old days" atmosphere, close to the old city. Our room was on the first floor, with the door leading to the courtyard. The little only problem is that it takes some...

We found this a real pleasant surprise. Our room was very basic but it was big and light with a double glass doors with shutters opening onto the balcony of the courtyard - it was very romantic. Shared bathroom was as expected - clean but over-used. The only bad thing to say was that one night a lot of people...

A nice place to stay. Room was clean and the receptionist helpful. We hired bikes from the hostel and cycled around the town. I'd suggest going in summer as winter was very quiet in the town. Breakfast was good, get there early to ensure that you get a full choice.

The best Hostel experience we made in Uruguay. The room was nice and clean and the first room where we found a big mattress instead of 2 small. Its also a old historical building with its own charm (Yoko loved the hardwood floors and the vaulted ceilings and of course the patio). The towels were given for free (In Punta...

The rate was about a third cheaper than Sacramento. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel is on the main street and there are a few signs giving directions to the place around town. We were allocated a triple room on the first floor. It's a basic room but the room and linens were clean. The bed was also...

Basic place to stay while in Colonia, main thing its close to all the old township of Colonia. You are not here to see the hostal , you are here to take a walk back through time . Being in Colonia you feel like its the 1940 , even some of the cars look like they are from the 1920

Good location, nice and helpful staff, nice and clean dorm. Breakfast is simple but tasty, towels and soap are included. Bathrooms could be better and more, but are ok. Nice old building with patio. Better than other hostels in Colonia that I saw.

I really hate giving bad reviews, but strongly feel the need to advise other people not to stay here. Colonia does not have many good hostels (I had to search around after leaving this one), but any of them must be better than this (I ended up in Hostel Sur, which was fine - nice staff). The staff in Hostel...

When you want go cheap, that's what you get. I was in a trip through Uruguay, visiting Colonia, Montevideu and Punta. This Hostel was by far my worst experience. First, I booked a double bed and they just put me in a twin bed. The rooms are old, the beds are bad and there are few bathrooms. 30 min line...

“The rooms are all good. Its a old building with old doors so you can hear people walking and talking but its not a party hostel so for me it was not a problem. Thats normal when you stay in a hostel I think.”

“We stayed on the back, and it was great. Second time we stayed on the first floor and it was also just fine. I think there's not a lot of difference in the rooms.”
