This is a lovely little hostel a few blocks away from the ferry and bus terminals, a large supermarket, the water and the restaurants. It was also the cheaper we could find in the centre. The hostel itself is charming, with a decent kitchen (although lacking chopping knives), Showers are hot and powerful, beds are comfy and Breakfast is free:...

We stayed there a couple of nights. The rooms are very rustic, but they do have ceiling fans. There are plenty of shared bathrooms and showers too. It felt a little loud at night, mostly from guests talking in the common areas until late. We did forget our passports in the room, and didn't realize it until arriving to Montevideo....

The staff at this hostel are rude. We felt as though we were an inconvenience to the staff as non-Spanish speaking travellers. We have been in South America for over two months and never been treated like children because we don't speak the native language fluently. We try to speak as much Spanish as we can, but unfortunately are not...

We read the reviews for this place and begrudgingly booked it as it was the cheapest. I was dreading the bed big situation and rude staff. I have to say I was deeply impressed and surprised. I think they have got new mattresses and pillows to get rid of the bed bug situation as they felt very new. The whole...

It's definitely not a luxury hostel, but after 5 months of traveling in South America it is better than a lot that I've seen. It is family run and everyone was nice to us. The bathrooms had locks, the beds were comfortable, and we were given fresh towels everyday. The kitchen was well equipped and the internet worked well (yes,...

It's not the best but considering what other hostels are charging, it's good. Was surprised that breakfast not just 2 piece of bread but a basket of assortment of small buns. The wifi only assessed in common area but it was fast. For budget conscious people.

I am glad you are reading this. I should have checked Tripadvisor as well, but stupid me: I didn't. This place is terrible!!! When we walked in, the woman almost looked angry. She got even more irritated when I didn't speak Spanish very well. Some context: I speak English, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Greek and Latin, and I just arrived...

Woke up in the middle of the night surrounded by BED BUGS! The staff blamed me in a ridiculous rude way that I have brought the bed bugs with me. We got offered a new room where I immediately found even more bed bugs underneath the blankets where I looked! They still wanted us to pay the full price and...

Probably OK about 20 years ago. Cleaners clean everything in the mornings but basics missing. Walls damp, paint flaking everywhere. WiFi doesn't work, staff hit and miss. Kitchen OK. Not much atmosphere. Cheapest option in colonial but still not really good value for money. OK location but a little far out by colonial standards but convenient for bus station. Advice...
