The Victoria Falls Waterfront is situated on the Northern banks of the Zambezi River, approximately 4 km's upstream from The Victoria Falls and just opposite Siloka (Long) Island. This establishment is designed to attract the younger more adventurous traveller (and of course the young at heart!) who wish to experience the Great Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and its stunning wildlife surrounds, without great expense. It is designed to cater for all travellers, from camping to basic, good quality chalet accommodation. The Waterfront has some lovely riverside chalets with balconies and stunning views. We also have Adventure Village Tents which are permanent tents with 2 x single beds and a campsite - so something to suit everyone. The lodge has fantastic amenities including 2 x swimming pools, a popular bar, restaurant with Peppino's by the river's pizza's (delicious!). There is also an internet cafe, wifi, small souvenir shop and a large activity centre who will help with all activities in the area.

Set on the scenic banks of the river, the Victoria Falls Waterfront hotel is a hit with guests for its prime location and picturesque atmosphere. Cleanliness is typically well-regarded, though some guests have noted room preparation could be improved. While the quality and value of the hotel's offerings, including its food, are appreciated, a few travelers mention that certain activities may feel overpriced.
Room experiences vary, with commendations for views and amenities but some maintenance concerns. The hotel's diverse amenities and the professionalism of its staff earn high marks, despite minor Wi-Fi and shower space issues.

Detailed Reviews
We had originally booked tent accomodation but due to a massive storm on our first night and a damaged tent, we had half our stuff flooded and wet.
Staff were pretty helpful, offering to move us and wash our clothes but the new assigned tent also had some holes.
With a quick chat to the duty manager we were able to upgrade to a chalet for a discounted price and the rest of our stay was spent in supreme comfort.
We would have been happy in the tent had there not been water dramas. The shared toilet facility was clean and tent was right next to the pool.
Food at the restaurant was always good and fairly priced and with a view of the Zambezi you can’t beat.
Staff always friendly and asking if we need anything, overall our stay was really enjoyable.

Dear Veenus4032892, Thank you for staying with us at The Victoria Falls Waterfront, on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, over the time we affectionately call "Hurricane Waterfront". We are happy to know you had a great stay after we all managed to rescue you from the lake that was the waterfront over those few days. I will be sure to pass on your compliments and regards to the staff, we thoroughly enjoyed accommodating you and look forward to hosting you again soon. The Victoria Falls Waterfront.

We stayed in a Chalet which is more than adequate, comfortable room. There are other accommodations there like the tents but I can't speak to them. The bar and restaurant staff were excellent and we never failed to come in after dinner to our mosquito net pulled back and room ready for us. The view was excellent.
Although the food was good if you want a high end dining experience or spa you just need to follow the nice walk to the David Livingstone next door.
They offer some free shuttles to Victoria falls and downtown and it is about $10 USD to return by taxi when you are ready.

I brought my Dad to the Victoria Falls Waterfront for a family celebration to celebrate his 80th birthday. We stayed in the riverfront chalets and spending time on the veranda catching up with my family while the Zambezi river flowed past was such an ideal spot. The staff came around every evening to ensure that our rooms where sprayed for mosquitoes. Amy and her team planned a wonderful meal on the MV Mambushi at sunset - what a way to celebrate such a special birthday - sunset on the Zambezi. A birthday cake was produced and my Dad was so touched when the waiting staff sang him happy birthday!. The food produced in the restaurant is delicious and the choices catered for every need. The staff were so friendly and caring - they really looked after my dad during this special occasion.

This was an excellent resort. We e stayed in the campground, with our own camping equipment, which is even cheaper than the Adventure Tent they provide.
The campground has a sink with running water, power socket and bright light.
Very quiet, you could hear the elephants walking on the other side of the fence, and hippos across the river, even though it was far. Washroom and hot water showers available at no additional cost. cleaned daily. Restaurant is very good. Our friends stayed in the adventure tent they provide. They have cota with mattress. Fan and power, plus they had breakfast included in their price. Excellent location very friendly staff.

Dear worldtrotterw, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, we are delighted to see that you enjoyed your time at Victoria Falls Waterfront and that the team looked after you. Our campsite is located within our lush gardens and close to our main swimming pools and ablution block. Our fence borders Mosi Oa Tunya National Park so clients can often see Elephants, Impala's and even Buffalos passing especially at this time of year. Our main lodge building, bar and restaurant are on the banks of Upper Zambezi River where you can see Elephants crossing the river as well as hippps and crocodiles. We do have a range of different accommodation options for those who would prefer ensuite rooms rather than the camping vibe, which include Adventure Village Rooms, Garden and River Chalets. We hope you also got to experience some of Livingstones top activities, with having Safari Par Excellence and their booking office on site makes planning and experiencing these very easy. Our two cruise boats make river cruises very convenient and a great way to end an action-packed day in and around Livingstone and Victoria Falls. Thank you for staying at Victoria Falls Waterfront during your time in Livingstone and we hope to welcome you again in the future.

We're fortunate to live in a country that values and enjoys outdoor time so much already, so that there are many places we can still visit with only slight changes to their normal protocols and still feel as safe as possible. Livingstone Waterfront is one of those places. We recently visited as a family of seven. We had two chalet rooms, and took breakfast and dinner at the lodge. We also took a river cruise on a fully open sided boat. Staff were masked at all times that I noticed. The food was good, although a little slow - definitely plan on a leisurely meal at night. A particular highlight was the wood fired pizza, possibly the best pizza I've had during our two years in Zambia. Wifi extended to the rooms, which is unusual in my lodge experience here. As is common with lodges that offer river tours or game drives, be prepared to pay park fees separately when you checkout.

Dear Quiddity42, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Victoria Falls Waterfront, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed and felt safe during your stay with us, we do take the health of our clients and staff very seriously especially during these difficult times and we have implemented all the recommended protocols. We are fortunate to have wide open spaces, beautiful gardens, outside dining, open sided Sunset Cruise river boats MV Makumbi and Mambushi as well as being located on the banks of the Upper Zambezi River. Wi-Fi has become such an important part of our lives in recent years, we have boosters around the property to ensure clients staying in our Exec, River Facing, Family, Garden Chalets and Adventure Village rooms all have free access in their rooms as well as at the main bar and restaurant area. Peppinos Pizza on the River certainly do make fantastic Wood Fired Pizzas, they are popular with tourists and locals alike, enhanced with a refreshing Gin & Tonic or an ice cold Mosi Lager while watching the sun setting over the Zambezi River. We apologise for any delays you experienced in the restaurant, this isn't the normal service we provide and will investigate what happened during your stay. Victoria Falls Waterfront is the home of Safari-par-excellence renowned activity provider since 1994 where you can book all activities within the area. Safari Par Excellence activity prices exclude park fees. Clients pay park fees directly to National Heritage or at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife gate on entry, for River Cruises our activities office receive payment either at time of booking or on confirming your trip if pre-paid. There shouldn't be any instance where park fees are charged at checkout and we are sorry for any confusion or miscommunication in your case. Thank you for staying with whilst visiting Livingstone and the Mighty Victoria Falls, we hope to host you and your family in the future!

This is a great place, authentic feel and great rooms. The breakfast is exceptionally good and the view of the Zambezi is also spectacular. However the air conditioner was barely working and I believe there better value-for-money places for backpackers.

This is a good spot. It is upriver from the falls, most people taking a cab to go elsewhere. Had two different rooms. Both had a back patio, two chairs and lots of tall trees. The second one was beside the Zambezi River with a newer shower and more plush patio chairs/tables. The rooms were of ample size. There was mosquito netting. Two bottles of water were complimentary and could be refilled near reception [the tap water comes from the Zambezi River]. The bathroom was adequate with two shampoo bottles and a bar of soap at the sink. The tile floor is cool underfoot. There is a space for a suitcase and a desk and seat [or use it as a second space for a second suitcase]. Staff was efficient and always smiling. There are two pools. The restaurant is near the river. My lunch was fine the first day. The wood fired pizza oven is a must. I also had a delicious and huge cajun chicken salad for one lunch. The morning breakfast fare was ample with the option of an omelet. The black faced vervets love to grab items from the tables; you are warned. Only quality control issue was when moving rooms. It did not have the booked two beds, a follow up request was needed to separate the beds and the bags had not been moved into the room some 8 hours later.

Dear termar, Thank you taking the time to send a detailed and informative review of your stay with us. We do have a range of different accommodation options available from camping to basic Adventure Village Tents with shared ablutions to Adventure Village ensuite rooms then we have our Garden and River Facing Chalets. Our River Facing Chalets have had a recent soft furnishings and shower upgrade and we have just started on a full refurbishment project for all our chalets which we are very excited about. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our Riverside restaurant and Peppinos Pizzas, they are both popular with tourists and locals alike both for the food and our views especially the sunsets across the river. We do our best to try and keep the vervet monkeys from our breakfast service and most of the time they aren't too much of a problem however unfortunately from time to time they manage to get something! We apologise profusely for the delay in your bags being delivered to your new room and the beds not being split for your arrival, we will work with the team to ensure improvements are made. We hope you also got to experience and enjoy Livingstone / Safari Par Excellences many activities during your stay. Thank you for staying at Victoria Falls Waterfront during your time in Livingstone and we hope to welcome you again in the future.

Made an unplanned stopover in Livingstone on what was meant to be a camping trip but because of our late arrival- the roads in Zambia and really outrageous- we decided to treat ourselves with clean sheets and ready made beds. Livingstone was almost empty because of the omicron flight ban into souther Africa and it was easy to find a hotel and I think we should have looked further. But we arrived late and agreed to a much too expensive price for what we got at our first stop. The rooms at the Waterfront are really outdated, the bathrooms fitted with old carpets that flooded as the showers had no shower curtains. The family room had four single beds scattered around a strangely shaped room. But the sheets were clean and we had a good nights sleep. On the upside, the outside terrace with a view over the Zambezi river served excellent pizza.

Dear emmaaX2326BN, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us and we apologise you didn’t find the room to be to your satisfaction. Victoria Falls Waterfront has a range of different accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets including self camping, our Adventure Village Tents with shared ablutions. Our modern, budget en suite Adventure Village rooms are very popular. Our Garden and River View Chalets are downstairs en suite rooms, they are rustic, spacious and have private verandas. Our family chalets are upstairs rooms with 4 single beds and our Executive Chalets are also upstairs rooms with King Size bed, shower over bath en suite with large verandas and river views. We had planned to renovate all our Chalet bathrooms and upstairs Chalet rooms in 2020 however as Covid struck and the tourism industry was seriously affected we were forced to cut back and focus on supporting our staff and their families. Our management team are always on site to ensure clients are well looked after and we wish you had spoken to them to see how they could have helped in making sure you were happy with your chosen accommodation option. Arriving late after an unpleasant journey is never easy, we are happy to hear you found the room clean and that you had a well deserved good night’s sleep. Victoria Falls Waterfront home to Safari Par Excellence renowned activity provider is perfectly located within Mosi-oa Tunya National Park on the Upper Zambezi River between the ‘Mighty’ Victoria Falls and Livingstone town. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the views from our restaurant and our Peppinos Pizzas by the river are very popular. We would urge our clients to contact us in advance so they can be provided all the relevant information and options available and / or speak to a manager, if there is anything that can be done to make our clients stay more comfortable or enjoyable as we are always here to help.

We camped just as Livingstone and the national arks had re-opend after Covid. The campsite was very empty. I imagine it would be very crowded and noisy at a usual time of year. Facilities were goo, with lights and mains power at each campsite spot. The sites are nice, but very close to each other.
The Waterfront meals are good and resonably priced.

Dear Red-110, Thank you for staying with our team at The Victoria Falls Waterfront, on the banks of the upper Zambezi River. Our camping options are popular with our budget travelers and the camp sites can be busy. With that in mind we usually space out groups in the sites and there is ample room for parties; with options to take another camp site for bigger groups. We are also very cognizant of the 'peaceful' camp mindset and our security work well in reminding excited groups that they need to be aware of other campers and we enforce noise curfews. The camp site is set well away from our rooming options and we have wallet friendly accommodation in our Adventure rooms for those who would rather upgrade from camping. I will be sure to pass on your compliments to our kitchen team and we are happy to know you enjoyed what was on offer. Travel safely and we hope you return again soon. The Waterfront Team.

The hotel has a superb location right on the river so that you can sit in the bar or restaurant and just watch the river flow by. This also means you can access river cruises easily as the jetty is right there at the hotel. The rooms are decent and the food in the restaurant is very good. The hotel also has an activity booking office where you can book all kinds of tours and activities.
On the other side of things, the place is absolutely infested with mosquitos. If you stay in town, away from the river, you will have far fewer. The river location also means that you are quite far away from other restaurants and bars, so you will need to either get a taxi, or eat in. The pools are both miniscule... not even sure why they bother with the expense of maintaining them since they're not really worth swimming in.

Dear Gordon766, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, we are very happy to see that you enjoyed our location on the banks of the Upper Zambezi River, within the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park in between Livingstone city and Victoria Falls. Our Riverside Restaurant and Peppinos Pizza on the River are both popular with locals and tourists alike. Most clients staying with us don't need to go to bars and restaurants in Livingstone as along with our own restaurant and bar there is also a walk way along the river to The David Livingstone Safari Lodge where guests can choose to go for a meal or a drink, then we also have our Sunset Cruise which includes drinks, snacks and a light braai as well as the very popular Elephant Cafe which includes transfers so there are lots of options available. Unfortunately, when mosquitos come to Livingstone they affect the entire town, they have just returned after months of having none, they come and go, the local community and authorities are working together to see we can improve this situation going forward. Our swimming pools are very much appreciated and utilised by all during the hot summer months. Thank you for staying at Victoria Falls Waterfront during your time in Livingstone and we hope to welcome you again in the future.

THere are villas eith a river view but I’m not sure if there are any rooms. There’s a restaurant on the deck and you can sit there anytime you want. Great view - I watched elephants crossing the river from there one morning.
Hi Emma Y,
Many thanks for the query - gluten free ingredients are a challenge in Livingstone, but we will certainly make a plan! Please let us know a month in advance of your visit - please direct the email for the attention of AMY - our F&B Manager.
Many thanks and see you soon!
