Granite Park Lodges is a little resort paradise consisting of four, thatched, self contained holiday lodges in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Located just 10 minutes from the central business district, this Bulawayo accommodation provides easy access to all the City’s main attractions. Set in lush, tranquil surroundings of unspoilt, indigenous vegetation and majestic granite kopjies (hills), Granite Park Lodges is only 30 minutes from the Matobo National Park. There is a picturesque waterfall cascading into a natural swimming pool for your pleasure. It is here that the Dassies may show themselves whilst basking on one of the granite outcrops. All our lodges have a separate double bedroom, bathroom, teak fitted kitchen including fridge and stove, and are fully equipped. Our family lodges have an additional loft floor with two twin beds and are capable of accommodating up to six people with ease.

Detailed Reviews
We spent couple of hours at the Granite Park Lodge with the family and its such a gem hidden in the heart of Bulawayo. Good destination for retreat, relax and unwind. It feels like a destination in Victoria falls.
The lodges are nice clean and made of tash roof.

Granite Park lodges is set in tranquil bushland only 10 minutes drive from the centre of Bulawayo. The lodges are beautifully decorated and the facilities are better than any we found on our travels around Zimbabwe. Waking up in the morning all you can hear are birds singing and the resident sheep grazing around the land. It is a wonderfully relaxing place to stay, so much so that we found it very hard to leave! We were well looked after by the staff and we will definitely not stay anywhere else in Bulawayo in future.

Me and my family have stayed at Granite Park Lodges on many occassions and always love it there. Always quiet and peaceful with plenty of bird life. The lodges are clean and well kitted out and we enjoy the beautiful decorations in them. The pool is ideal and always well kept. The staff are always very helpful and if you need anything, Clive and Gail are always there to help. I am looking forward for my next visit.

After 2.5 months travelling throughout Southern Africa staying mainly in B&Bs, Granite Park Lodges are without doubt the "Jewel in the Crown" - an excellent place to stay, highly recommended. We (party of 8) spent 6 days over the Christmas 2013 period at Granite Park Lodges and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Set in a natural secluded bushland garden complete with sheep, tortoises and bird life, the lodges, each with own patio and private BBQ area, are beautifully appointed, comfortably furnished, well equipped with all mod cons (all in good working order!) and offer satellite TV, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, room safes and house alarms. The vista from the pool area as well as from the Boma is beautiful, both great places to relax at the end of the day and watch an African sunset.
The warm welcome and personal care shown to us by Clive, Gail and staff - Lamek, Sheila and Jenny - was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, a real home from home. Thank you all for a truly memorable stay and great Christmas, and making us part of the family. We will be back!

We (party of 11 adults) stayed at Granite Park Lodges for one night, on our way home after a two week tour of Zimbabwe. The lodges are beautifully equipped, location is very convenient and the surroundings and nature very beautiful.
We booked through a travel agent, who failed to notify the lodge. Regardless, the friendly proprietors welcomed us and made sure that we were comfortable and had sufficient space for everyone.
In a country where we had really bad accommodation experiences, this property stands out as an example of what is still possible in Zimbabwe!

+1
When we arrived without prior booking on a Sunday afternoon at their gate nobody answered the bell. So we tried the mobile phone number indicated at the gate and asked for a room. Only 5 minutes later Gayle came to meet us. As they had not expected guests the room was not yet ready but she cleaned it for us in record time.
And what a surprise! You don't just get a room but a house (therefore lodge). The lodge we had was very large and modern with beautiful wooden furniture, a large sitting room, a table for 4, a large equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom and a comfy bedroom with large mosquito net. The lodge was nice and cool even without aircon although it was very hot outside.
The garden and pool were great to relax, or you could stay at your private patio.
She also gave us tips where to find a good restaurant on a Sunday night. As we loved the place so much we decided to stay a make use of the braai provided.
The lodge offers good value for money and was among the two best accommodations on our 4-weeks trip in Zimbabwe.
If you want to go to Matopos I recommend to stay at Granite Lodges instead of Malema Restcamp which is very old and the mosquitos eat you up at night. From Bulawayo you can easily explore Matopos as a day trip.

Granite Park Lodges is a rare find.. imagine living in luxury only 10 minutes from town, surrounded by unspoilt african bush, waking up to the calls of birds, watching the amber sun set as you sit by an open woodfire.. an absolutely wonderful stay in meticulously designed and superbly maintained lodges, with the most peaceful ambience.. run by warm, friendly staff under the personal guidance of the caring owner..

We did not plan on staying 3 nights but it’s so hard to leave Granite Park!
As soon as we arrived we were blown away by the peace and tranquil splendor of this lovely Park! And then we discovered our lodge, so spacious, so comfortable, so beautifully furnished and decorated in an elegant African style. Everything you need is there and even more!
We loved the atmosphere ... a little walk in the garden revealed a magnificent view of Bulawayo... and the swimming pool area complete with waterfall cascading over the rocks so nicely integrated in the well manicured gardens.
What we also really appreciated is that each lodge offers privacy and very soon our lodge began to feel like our home away from home. It was nice to have our own BBQ place where we enjoyed more than one good “braai” with our friends and have a drink on the verandah.
We were also very happy to simply relax in our lovely private garden but soon realized this could even be done from the comfort of our bed where we could listen to the birds, watch the squirrels playing in the trees and be entertained by the dassies (rock rabbits) running around, ...
We left with great memories of our time at Granite Park Lodge, the pleasant days, delightful evenings and we definitely recommend this Lodge.

When we receive comments like those you have given it is difficult to respond. Thank you so much for the kind words. Hopefully we will have the pleasure of your company in the future. By then the boma we are building should be complete, you will then be able to entertain your guests in even more comfort. Regards Clive Moore GRANITE PARK LODGES
