We spent couple of hours at the Granite Park Lodge with the family and its such a gem hidden in the heart of Bulawayo. Good destination for retreat, relax and unwind. It feels like a destination in Victoria falls. The lodges are nice clean and made of tash roof.
thank you so much Gail for the excellent stay. i never had a chance to meet in in person but over the phone you are a darling. very clean lodges very neat and quiet. although we got a lodge with two single beds it was a bit uncomfortable but we worked around it. amazing views as well.very nice braai area and a very nice pool area. we enjoyed our stay expect us soon again.
Thank you so much Gail for the lovely stay we had, the lodges were cosy the surroundings awesome we enjoyed the pool, the garden...... everything. Close to town and also situated close to Matopos road making it convenient. We will definitely be back
This self catering lodge is one of the best lodges I have been to. The lodges are nested within bushes, you won't believe you are in the city. Great location approximately 15min from town and quiet surroundings. The bedroom was a bit tight for me but adequate. This lodge is good for relaxing over the weekend or when taking time off. Overall I loved the space and will definitely visit again, my stay was too short.
When we arrived without prior booking on a Sunday afternoon at their gate nobody answered the bell. So we tried the mobile phone number indicated at the gate and asked for a room. Only 5 minutes later Gayle came to meet us. As they had not expected guests the room was not yet ready but she cleaned it for us in record time. And what a surprise! You don't just get a room but a house (therefore lodge). The lodge we had was very large and modern with beautiful wooden furniture, a large sitting room, a table for 4, a large equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom and a comfy bedroom with large mosquito net. The lodge was nice and cool even without aircon although it was very hot outside. The garden and pool were great to relax, or you could stay at your private patio. She also gave us tips where to find a good restaurant on a Sunday night. As we loved the place so much we decided to stay a make use of the braai provided. The lodge offers good value for money and was among the two best accommodations on our 4-weeks trip in Zimbabwe. If you want to go to Matopos I recommend to stay at Granite Lodges instead of Malema Restcamp which is very old and the mosquitos eat you up at night. From Bulawayo you can easily explore Matopos as a day trip.…
Thank you for such a pleasant stay. Such a cosy set up, very clean, spacious and beds were comfortable ... will definately recommend. Staff were all so helpful. Wish we stayed longer! Happy New Year!!
There are 4 beautifully designed lodges in a peaceful and lovely garden with idyllic dip pool. Gail is a super friendly host who helped us with all out travel plans and was a joy to meet - so quiet and safe - self catering so feels like home from home
absolute attention to detail. luxurious. personal touch. clean. top quality of every thing. woodwork awesome. garden nice. quiet area. lovely lady owner. great view. everything awesome. 100usd a chalet a night, was worth it by far. i will return. i recommend this place highly. well located.
We discovered this hidden gem on our family tour of Zimbabwe. We wanted to explore the Matopos National Park and found this lodge online. It is on the edge of Bulawayo and I wasn't sure what to expect, but what transpired was a charming and well appointed property with 4 lodges set in beautiful African Gardens. The thatched lodges are well built, clean and functional whilst remaining attractive. We explored the Matopos area, which is certainly worth a visit, but also had a look around Bulawayo which was nicer than I had imagined. Definitely worth planning in if you are putting a trip together.
We stayed over at granite park lodge for 3 nights over Christmas and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had booked 1 times family room and 2x double twin bed lodges. On arrival me were met by Lemeck who was very helpful and quickly processed us and showed us our lodges. The lodges we clean and tastefully well presented. Lemeck was always at hand during our stay should if we ever needed him. This place is amazing, lovely pool area and the boma was perfect for our Christmas lunch. Mrs Moore the owner was very helpful and welcomed us which was very nice. The beds are comfortable and clean. Location is amazing. 10 min drive into town and the closest grocery shop is less than 5 mins away. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Bulawayo. No doubt I'll sure be back. …
