Arguably the best boutique hotel in Bulawayo. The rooms are aesthetically pleasing, spacious, very clean and quite modern, equipped with almost everything you need. Entertainment, coffee station, bar fridge, spacious bathroom. Cherry on top is the fast wifi!!!! The rooms overlook a very beautiful garden. Friendly staff that pay special attention to ones needs. Am lactose intolerant and they made sure not to include dairy in my meals. However the food needs a bit of work, though beautifully presented. The menu is broad. You are spoilt for choice!

Loved everything about this place but what made it so remarkable was the people who worked there. You were greeted every day by the groundskeepers, handymen, chefs, gatekeepers, and any other individual who worked at the Mosamai Guest Lodge. Every day we were prepared delicious meals and treated exceptionally well. There was free wifi, hot showers, laundry upon request, new linen and towels every day/every other day, meals 3 times a day, a pool, and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. This place surpassed any expectations I had and the workers I truly consider family now. Would recommend this place any day!!

The Motsamai lodge exceeded all of my expectations. The location was safe and easily accessible from downtown Bulawayo. The lodge was clean, organized, and just so beautiful! The food was also safe, clean, and so delicious! The staff was my favorite part. Brian was so kind and helpful, and he soon became a wonderful friend of our team :) The other staff members were also so friendly and exceptional. I’m so grateful that the Lord provided such an amazing place for my team to stay during our time in Zimbabwe. We hope to come back next year! I couldn’t recommend this place enough. We love you Motsamai Lodge! Thank you for making our experience far beyond our expectations 💛

This lodge is located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood.
The rooms are situated in a large and green garden. We had a room on the second floor and we could dit outside on the balcony with garden view.
Our room was clean and spacious, with a kingsize bed, a couch, a desk and chair and a satellite tv.
We had an ensuite bathroom with shower and jacuzzi.
Staff was really helpful and friendly.
Breakfast is a little disappointing, for 10$ per person I expect a little more than juice from a jar, a fried egg and toast.

I have been traveling to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe for the last 7 years with mission teams from the US. We have stayed at Motsamai for the last two years.
Our teams have been very impressed with the lodge, updated rooms, grounds, food, and the staff's gracious attention to every detail.
The rooms are up to any western standard...with amazing, spa-like bathrooms. The thatched-roof dining facility offers a wonderful "taste of Africa" feel for meals and lounging. And, the family recently added proper boardroom and conference rooms for meeting.
Motsamai is this team's second home. We can't wait to visit again (and will) in the future!

My husband, daughter and I recently stayed at the Motsamai Guest Lodge in Bulawayo. During our 4 week stay in Zimbabwe we stayed at the Guest Lodge on 3 occasions as we kept coming back after travelling to Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park and Lake Kariba. It felt like we were coming back home each time we came back to the Lodge. The Lodge is "family run" accommodation and nothing is a trouble to anyone who works there. They are currently undertaking extensions to the Lodge which they hope will be finished by the end of April. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with large bathrooms including shower and bath. A swimming pool is included and well maintained grounds. If anyone is looking at travelling to Bulawayo I would recommend that you stay at the Motsamai Guest Lodge.

Sadly this hotel is nothing like the description or the photos! Brian, Wilmore, the gatekeepers, and others are sweet as pie but truly this hotel should not be in business.
Laundry ended up in just about anyone’s room (a bin was kept in the front office filled with loose unmatched socks & underwear), 1 room had bathroom lights that never turned off, cabinets in many rooms were broken, 2 rooms had mold, a tub plug was melted tar, some rooms had no bedside lamps, good luck with warm water, breakfast some mornings was scrambled eggs & watered down coffee (at a crazy price of $15), some of the beds were like hard hay. There is no restaurant like the description states. Internet gets turned off every night, electricity was constantly going off, there is no heat, no hair dryers.
Ridiculous really and quite the joke.

The lodge is well run. I loved the breakfast which was well made and presented. Having driven the previous day I was pleasantly surprised to find the car washed and clean the next morning. Such a beautiful touch.

Great lodge, very comfortable with a personal service. Even got a car wash the next morning without requesting! Area is quiet and has easy access to the rest of the city and beyond. Great location to explore the Matopos Hills and nature reserve.
