Though I chose an un-renovated room, I found it difficult to sleep with a noisy ceiling fan, outside light shinning in through the kitchen and over the main door which made it so bright there was no point in switching off the lights. ( I think that I reported the same thing a few years ago when I first stayed there) TV channels on offer were terrible. There was hardly any hot water flowing through the hot water tap in the bath. There was dirty hand marks on the walls, which some one attempted to clean which just left streak marks.

Sadly I will NOT be coming back. Southern Comfort lodge offers better quality at the same price. The only disadvantage is that they are a fair distance out of town. Great spot, great potential but.......

It is pointless asking guests to fill in these forms if you are wanting to take their comments seriously!

Good morning and thank you for taking the time to review us on Tripadvisor. My apologies for your unpleasant stay. We as management have seen that there is a serious need to upgrade our rooms, and have started. Unfortunately with the current economic climate, this is taking longer than we had expected, but we you can rest assured, we will upgrade as and when we can. I hope once our renovations are complete we can welcome you back to a better brighter N1 Hotel!

I had a very pleasant stay. Online booking was simple, and check-in was fast, efficient and pleasant. The room was very clean, and kept so during my stay. There is need to improve on air-conditioning as the ceiling fan was not very effective in the excessive October heat.

Very clean and spacious. The atmosphere is exactly as it looks in the images provided on website. The only problem was noise from the busy street. Otherwise I have no complaints. It is an affordable and safe option when you need to spend a few nights in Bulawayo.

Great location, situated conveniently next to Intercape Bus Station. Within walking distance to restaurants and Bulawayo train station. The decent size rooms were spotless. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

It's a good place. Coming back from SA after losing had taken it's toll on me and my wife. We had been trying the rural and back, not rested.
We had traveled by road from SA and we were so tired a day exhausted after the funeral.
The N1 was just what we needed to recuperate and refresh and we got that plus more.

The staff are polite and responsive. The rooms are very clean, pleasant and well serviced. The hotel is very well maintained. For a hotel in the central business district the amenities of the hotel and great service far outweigh the city bustle.

N1 hotel is a nice place and the staff are quite friendly, close to amenities etc. However, there were only cartoons channels on the weekend that we checked in (you cannot unwind with cartoons, sports channels please) and we were only given internet access of 500mb which lasted less than 30 minutes.
Please increase internet access/data amount or at least sell vouchers that provide enough data for each day of stay. Also ensure internet speed is improved.

Thank you for your review! I am sorry the internet was not enough - I have instructed the receptionist to give as many vouchers as the guests need in future. Our TV's are set to show Aljezera news, M-Family (Movies) Super Sport 3 and our local ZBC. There should never be cartoons showing and I will look into this. I apologize for this.

We chose N1 Bulawayo after having a good stay at N1 Harare. However, we were disappointed with this location. Firstly, the rooms are not equipped with showers, only bath tubs (without shower heads). Secondly, the wifi barely worked and required (free) vouchers from reception. The vouchers worked for about 10 minutes before a new voucher was required. Reception staff were also quite unhelpful for the most part and seemed irritated any time we asked them simple questions. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is located right beside the Intercape bus station

Thank you for your review. I apologize for the poor service you got from our reception, and I will look into it and make sure our service improves. We have also recently upgraded one room to have a larger TV and a shower. We will continue upgrading all the rooms until the are of the same standard as our Harare branch.
