Let me start with the positive, the safari is great. However everything that had to do with the hotel facilities is terrible! Food is late and not well cooked, air-conditioning in the rooms are old and filled with dust, our toilet was leaking, the staff seamed mostly unexperienced with a few exceptions. The pool is one of the most disgusting...

It's almost 40 years since my last visit to Hwange Safari Lodge and I wish to trash a few previous reviews. The Lodge was built in 1973 and remains an Icon of Bushveld Architecture. Yes the Rooms and Hotel are tired, but like the Giant Monoliths around the waterhole, she has stood in the African Sun for many a year....

Dear Sir, I hope this message finds you well. Thank you very much for such a glowing response. It is true that the number of guests to our Lodge has reduced however, as care and hospitality are the reasons for our existence, we will continue to take care of this historic landmark that has stood the test of time. You...

Exactly one year on from my previous visit, when we checked in this time, something felt terribly wrong; Where were the welcoming smiles, the welcome drinks, the cheerful porters to help with the luggage? Even the water in the swimming pool looked dark and murky as compared to the sparklingly clear pool from last year. From hindsight one may say...

We found the hotel extremely clean , well maintained and interesting place. The staff were very friendly and ready to go the extra mile to assist. there is also a great view of various animals coming to drink in the pond nearby. The hotel was not very busy at the time despite it being a few days before Christmas. but...

We stayed here as part of a tour. The hotel itself seemed to lack tlc. In our bath, the white lining was peeling off and enamel was missing from the bottom of the bath. I later realised that the mark where the enamel was missing was in the shape of a footprint as though somebody had stood in the bath...

When you first walk into the lobby of this place, you really get the sense that something special is about to happen. The open air lobby looks straight through down past the pool to the watering hole and excitement builds. Things get a bit rocky quite quickly however. The lodge has generally seen better days, which is not to say...

I enjoyed my stay at Hwange Safari Lodge but with one major disappointment. They limit their guests to one safari drive a day. As this was my first time on the African continent and my first game lodge I didn't have the experience to challenge my travel agent pre booking regarding this major deficiency.Another minor irritation was the fact that...

We stayed in this lodge years ago and it was good to be back.. The accommodation and facilities are dated and tired but clean and presentable. Staff very friendly and helpful. The water hole did not disappoint with the abundance of wildlife each day. Food adequate and well presented.

This lodge was amazing. Loved being able to look at the waterhole from the pool or lookout I between game drives. Food was great and so was the service. Costs only covered one game drive per day - was told that two were included. I did find it annoying to pay for extra game drives

More of an hotel than a lodge with good facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. This overlooks a water hole with an abundance of game; elephant, impala, warthog, zebra, baboon. kudu etc. The atrium had some spectacular tallow birds. We heard lions but didn't see them. Mostly the meals were outside from the buffet; good selection and well presented....
