This was our second stay at The Homestead, such a beautiful place tucked away in Mutare. Stayed there overnight.Unfortunately the wifi was not accessible from the room that we were allocated which was a huge disappointment. Also due to heavy rains you could smell the moisture from the Ceiling I suspect .You could tell that the place has seen better...

We arrived without a booking but we managed to get a decent room. Place is nice and clean. Lots of monkeys though...and a noisy couple in the next room. Otherwise, great place to sleep on a budget... Staff is friendly and helpful.

Stayed there in January and we enjoyed our stay.I could hear people , i don't know if the were employees chattering near our window it wasn't bothersome but some solitude will be good.Staff were polite and courteous ,Clean, shared bathrooms.

En suite room 6 is a no go. It's right next to the donkey they use to heat the water for the showers. If you don't know what that is, then try it and learn. Room was very smokey thanks to the donkey being so close. It was cold so the security was constantly poking and scratching around the fire....

Hi Mark, sorry your stay was so fraught with disappointment. Your issues have been noted, and we have put together a refurbishment programme for all the en-suites rooms which will commence shortly. We have spoken with the night guard and asked him to please have more consideration for the guests who are trying to sleep. Not sure why the WIFi...

Four stayed overnight on a visit to the east from Harare and found it good value for money although it may have seen better days like a lot else in Mutare sadly. Pleasant rooms and friendly staff with a unusual breakfast. The monkeys in the grounds were good entertainment to visitors but no doubt a nuisance to the staff. If...

The people there are amazing but the actual place is getting run down. Needs an overhaul. The pool wasnt clean. wifi wasnt free as they stated so that was really disappointing. Not sure I'd make a repeat visit here the next time I'm in Mutare.

What a beautiful place and such friendly and helpful staff! We have stayed in many B&Bs around the world and would rate our experience at the Homestead among the v best. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Gardens are simply lovely - even in the middle of a dry Zimbabwe winter everything was green. The pool is a big plus....

Stayed about 6 days, food was OK but not what other reviewers mention. But not to worry, it's a great place to stay and easy reach of some excellent places - Bvumba, Nyanga etc. We could not find any car hire in Mutare. Staff are lovely and we felt safe and looked after.
