Away from the bustle of town, it would take 30 minutes to walk here from the station. But don't worry, there is a free shuttle bus! The Ryokan is large and may therefore be quite busy with guests but it has a quiet feel to it. It is clean and well kept. Rooms are traditional with futons on tatami mats...

This ryokan is located 5 min walk from Takayama Folk Village, but very far from town, bus station and rail station. The owner will provide 3 morning shuttles, otherwise you have to take a bus (last bus at 4:40pm from bus center). Therefore, you likely will require a taxi to go to town for dinner, shopping and sightseeing. The place...

It's an affordable ryokan (japanese style inn) in a great location amidst the historical area of Takayama, 2 min walk to the quaint and interesting village (lots of old grass thatch roof houses, craft center etc). The service is great, very friendly and home-y. That being said a bit on the cheap side, food is acceptable, not great, but you...

Nice ryokan in Takayama. Very Friendly staff. Shuttle bus to city center (or 20 min walking). Very close to Hida no Sato (Folks Village). You can have the breakfast and/or the dinner on a tatami restorant room. Tasty meals. Though not on city center, it is a recommendable place to stay.

5 of us stayed here on 13th March 2016, we were given a huge spacious room with a wash basin. Room was old but clean. The owner Murayama-san was quite nice and spoke little English. He was very fast to picked us up at the NOHI bus terminal when we called him from there. He also provides shuttle services to...

Very nice spot. Not in the center, 35 minutes walk from rail station (center). Very nice Japanese dinner, reservation required. Japanese breakfast very good, western style breakfast you can skip. Onsen for Ladies, Men and Couples for free. Shuttle bus to and from train station. Rooms are big enough and well equipped. Rooms might be noisy if you have co-guests...

As with my review on Ibis Style Kyoto Station,I should have written this review last year. My cousin and I together with our sons (9 and 14 Years Old), stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in September 2015. We choose this hotel because we wanted to try staying in traditional Japanese Ryokan, in the outer city are, with lots...
