The room needs renovation as soon as possible. The bed/desk/lamp/TV look really old. It felt like I traveled back in the 80s or 90s. The walls and carpet are dilapidated too. I got electrocuted from the lamp switch.

When you walk up to the old town the streets are crowded with restaurants. The restaurants specialised in meat are a bit more expensive. But those are the ones that are open later than other restaurants. Takayama seems to be a bit focused on day trip tourists. Did you see my review of the small, cheap restaurant with tasty food?
