The ryokan is just a short walk from Takayama station, and just minutes away from other popular tourist attractions. Check in is at 3pm but we deposited our bags and left it in their care. When we did our check in later that afternoon, the bags were at our rooms. Do note that check out is at 10 am and...

We stayed at this place for one night - and what an excellent choice this was. Great service, friendly, comfortable rooms with the traditional ryokan twist. Food included in a room rate was absolutely amazing - both dinner and breakfast. Having an opportunity to wear yakuta during our stay was also great fun. Ryokan is well situated only a short...

We had a great time staying here. We were greeted at check in like VIPs, where they seated us at a table and served us tea and a snack while they went over our reservation details. When check in was complete, we were escorted to our room, where they explained everything the room had to offer and reconfirmed our dinner...

Excellent location, only a short walk from the train station (not more than 5 minutes), and walking distance to the old town. From the moment you arrive till you leave, it seems you are in another world. When you enter the ryokan, of course you have to take off your shoes, and you get a pair of slippers. Before you...

The excellent experiences started by wiping the wheels of our suitcases. Great hospitality showed details of care to visitors. Few kilometres from sight seeing spots, few steps to restaurants for various choices. It was good for two-day stay. Only suggestion was the dinner to be improved.

Impeccable service, AMAZING food and incredible attention to detail. This ryokan leaves no stone unturned. We got to wear traditional kimonos for the duration our stay (the kind lady at reception even showed me how to tie it properly) with toe socks, eat amazing kaiseki meals with incredible variety including trying hida beef cooked in various ways and experience staying...

Oyado Koto no Yume means Excellent Ryokan in Japanese. Not really (have no idea what it means); but that’s what it should mean. Every aspect of our stay there was Excellent. You are treated like a VIP from the time you arrive until they wave goodbye as you leave. For example, the check in is at a couch where they...

We stayed 2 nights in Sept in the Suite room for our honeymoon. The service was amazing right from the start- 3 young & extremely polite gentlemen made our trip with their kind hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the most pleasurable experience. The room we got had the futons as well as a...

We arrived after two train rides from Tokyo and were greeted outside (they must of heard us coming as they came rushing out to greet us). It was politeness overload. Our bags were taken straight to our room where we were told to remove our shoes and were provided with more "traditional" japanese shoes. We were guided to a beautiful...
