We, a Dutch couple, stayed in this Ryokan during four nights in October 2015. The staff is very helpful with warm attention to their guests. The room is spacious, clean and in Japanese style. Sleeping on a double futon was very comfortable. For us it was a good starting point for walks to the temples and our trips to Furukawa...

Stayed 2 nights in this Japanese ryokan as wanted a traditional experience. Excellent- 3 minute walk from train- easy to find! Staff extremely welcoming- you know this is a different hotel from the minute you arrive! Shoes off- nothing new, but got to chose our own kimono to wear at the ryokan - beautiful but difficult to put on! The...

We stayed one night at Oyado Koto no Yume during our 'Japan by Rail' vacation. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the train station. Cross the road in front of the station and walk down a short street next to the Family Mart convenience store. There were many English-speaking staff on duty during the day, all of whom were...

We made a last minute decision to travel to Takayama and found vacancy at Oyado on Booking.com with good reviews. This ryokan is very conveniently located a few block away from Takayama JR Station, there was even a tourist information kiosk to get a map and ask for directions right outside station. After a 5 minute walk, we entered through...

The welcoming host was so professional, was just a joy to be taking care by him. We had the private hot bath which was really great and...

A lovely, somewhat westernized, ryokan. Location is convenient to the bus station. Room was attractive and comfortable. Breakfast -- Japanese and Western -- was very good. It was fun to wear the kimono and yukata, and staff were happy to assist. The shared bath was wonderful and relaxing...even for uptight westerners. Staff were unable/unwilling to give a restaurant recommendation. Would...
