We stayed for two nights in this ryokan at the very end of our trip. The place is charming and the owners are quite nice. Their english is quite good if you compare it to other accommodations we stayed at, which always makes things easier. Our room was just big enough, with our room away from the busy street in...

It was our first time staying in a traditional Japanese house and it was great! All the experience with the bed, shared bathrooms and shared spaces was great! Everything is super clean, the owners are very nice and helpful and the food is amazing we have a dinner and two breakfast there, everything was delicious! I definitely will stay and...

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful old ryokan. The rooms were very spacious and clean and the futons comfortable. The bathroom facilities are on a share basis but we never had to wait. The onsen is also a share style and was very hot! The owners were very helpful and speak excellent English. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner there...

Going to a rather traditional town like Takayama surely deserves a suitable accommodation. While it's no comparison to a more elaborate ryokan (which are undoubtedly more pricey), Sosuke exceeded my expectation and is more than comfortable for a night (or two) stay in such lovely town. As it is with old houses in Japan, the walls are thin and the...

As long as you are aware before you go - this is a hotel with shared facilities! Bathrooms and showers are shared. Everything is spotlessly clean and they provide robes and red slippers for the public areas. Rooms are traditional and old school tatami. While rooms have plenty of room, they lack in space to keep your stuff, there are...

Fantastic experience and I would love to come back again one day. The food is outstanding and the entire Japanese inn experience is a must. Very close to takayama station and walking distance to the old town.

We spent 2 nights in this Ryokan, we had an choice over breakfast traditional or western. Private shower or shared bathroom. Staff takes good care of you and it's a nice walk from the train station and center of town.

This Ryokan is located close to the Takayama station and the main attractions of Takayama are within walking distance. Still, since the station is close by, busses are also within reach. The staff is really friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the japanese breakfast here, what a treat!! We stayed in a rather spacious tatami room,...

This was a nice surprise, very friendly staff, shared bathrooms and toilets and hot baths, but we never had to wait, it all worked. Robes, towels changed each day, and the traditional dinners (2) were delightful. Breakfasts can be western style or Japanese style, and start at 7.00am on the dot, if you want breakfast it is at 7.00am. Busy...

The Ryokan was in a central location, only a short walk from the train station and good walking distance to the town attractions (10-15 minutes from town centre/shops).The family who ran the ryokan were very welcoming and friendly. They cooked excellent food for breakfasts and dinners. One of our group members had her birthday while we were here, and they...
