Stayed here as a couple for two nights during our two-week trip to Japan, and this was the only disappointing stay really. First thing first - don't go if you don't like bugs in your room (or everywhere in the building). There was even a 'bug catching and drowning' device in the room (pictured) for convenience. Dinner on offer we...

We really enjoy our stay at Kazeya. All staffs were very friendly and helpful. The place was amazing and we want to stay there again if we have a chance to go back to Takayama. The view from our room was fantastic as well as the view outside the hotel. Look from outside like a small house but it's quite...

"HIGHLY recommended and definitely will come back again if visiting Takayama area. Huge traditional Japanese tatami room with a separate tea room/living room. Most comfy bed during our 10 days trip. Very private and comfortable dining area with great Japanese food. Enjoyed every meal, great breakfasts and definitely recommend the dinner - 2000 to 3500 yen for a full course...

The place is nice and situated at a visible location. Dinner is good too.1000 yen more to change chicken to beef. Beef tasted good. Chicken not so tender. Room is spacious and so able to pack luggage comfortably. But too many bugs. Bugs like ticks! Onsen next to room is a plus. Ignore the bugs then it will be good....

After 15 days in hostel in Japan, we really needed something like this. The room was really big, with really comfy futons (first time with futon, great sleep) and a small bathtub in the garden (we were in a 3th floor... Unbelievable). We were a little bit tired of ramen, gyozas, okonomiyaki...so The dinner was really welcomed, authentic Japanese food....

We stayed with three people in this Ryokan for one night in May 2016. We found it excellent - the location, the tranquility, the various inside and outside onsen baths and the food, which was served in a private dining room. We got a room that was more like an apartment, with a pre-room and little kitchenette. We had the...

The room was nice and very spacious for Japanese standards, but the food left me disappointed. I wouldn't have minded if it was included in the price we payed for the room, but asking for $30 extra for an overcooked and rubbery Hidygyû steak kind of left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). The bath was very...

Kazeya is a premium ryokan with first rate service. The ryokan has 2 private onsen and 2 public, 1 for females and another for males. We had wonderful experiences relaxing in the hot onsen each evening after our hikes. The nights are cool and the air was crisp up in the mountain where Kazeya is situated . The experience was...

This ryokan located at 2 min walk from shin hotaka onsenguchi bus stop, on the way to shin-hotaka ropeway. We arrived this ryokan approximately 3pm, it maybe due to low season, we did not really seen much house guest along the road. Room - clean, full amenities , spacious and comfortable stay in the traditional style of Japanese room. Food...

A member of the staff speaks fluent English. The meals were gourmet. It is easy to get here by bus. But the best part was being able to use the private onsen, one indoors and one outdoors. One morning while we enjoying the outdoor onsen, a monkey came and ate the cherries in the garden right in front of us!
