Might actually come back to Takayama just to stay at this place again. SUPER friendly and welcoming with a warm family feel, this is a great place for a ryokan experience (first-timers included). Both the western and Japanese breakfasts were delicious (so, make sure to get one as part of your stay and wear your yukata!).

We stayed here for 2 nights. It's near to the bus terminal & JR station. Also walking distance to surrounding tourist places. Upon check in, we were shown to our room. The staff showed us the facilities, explained use of the electrical appliances, how to put on the yukata etc. We were also informed of the house rules. The room...

A wonderful place to stay in Takayama. Right in the middle of the town, it’s only a short walk to the Sanmachi Suji historic district. Although this is a traditional Japanese residence, it certainly doesn’t lack the modern conveniences such as reliable wifi, remote control heating and air conditioning, and even remote controls for the lights. We stayed in a...

This is an amazing ryokan that is well located to the train station as well as all of Takayama's top places to visit. The ryokan is stunning inside. Rooms are immaculate and spacious. All include toilets and ours included a private bathroom. However we also visited the onsen too. Breakfasts, both Japanese and western, are substantial and very tasty. Dinner...

Stayed there for two nights. Wonderful English speaking staff welcomed us and took our luggages during checkin. She introduced the ryokan, all the facilities and the onsen. She brought us to our room and the luggages were already well placed in the room. She talked us through the room. Her English level was amazing given the average level in...

Perfect ryokan. Centrally located. The staff went out of their way to help us with reservations and recommendations. Out of the 10 days in Japan, I slept like a puppy here. So comfortable and cozy in my large room traditionally decorated.

Ryokan located less than 10 minutes walk from Takayama station. We arrived at 1:30 and although check-in was at 3pm, we were warmly greeted and staff brought our bags to our room. We were given a tour of the Ryokan: simply beautiful! Nice decor and everything was clean. This was our first Ryokan experience and we enjoyed spending time in...
