Stayed for one night in this beautiful ryokan, very helpful and friendly staff with great English spoken. Everything was perfect, amazing onsen and excellent location between station and the old town. The room was very big and super clean
This place was a wonderful peaceful place very near everything in Takayama. Near bus and train station and downtown. Staff was friendly and well organized. Also had a hot spring in facility. Room was spacious and traditional with all amenities.

Hi Tim, sorry I am unsure as we booked a room with its own bathroom and toilet. I know there were showers in the onsen areas. The onsen areas are separate for male and female but the showers are open in each area. This truly is a fantastic hotel and the rooms are massive compared to city Japan hotels!
