Stunning hotel next to the lake and with beautiful views. It was our first time visit in Japan and this hotel was recommended by our friends. The hotel is remote which we loved as we are nature lovers. The food was amazing, rooms was simple but well looked after. The pride shows in the staff. It was a great stay and...

We stayed here for 2 nights in October for the foliage season. The hotel is by the lake, beautiful view from their restaurant and some lakeview rooms. Cheaper rate than some hotels right at Kappabashi, however the experience is wonderful. This view is way better than the Myojin Pond. Hotel rate is inclusive of breakfast and dinner. We are very...

Booked last minute through their website. The website is not so easy to navigate, but generally ok. We stayed in a Japanese room, which was neat and tidy and had all that we needed. We would be spending our days outside anyway. All Japanese style rooms face the lake and either are on the 1st or 3rd floors. The second...

Perfect location because its away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. It was quiet and homely and faces the spectacular Taishoike Pond. You can get a shot of the lake from your room in the early morning! Stunning. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel so we hardly got to lug any luggage around....

Staying at Taishoike hotel is worth it for the service and the food alone! All of the staff are outstanding but the manager Masaki especially. He speaks great English and goes out of his way to help and enquires about your day. The food was really amazing - we had a gastronomic feast every night. We stayed in both a...

Taishoike hotel was what my partner and I believed to be in the best location for the day walks around Kamikochi. It is situated at the start of the walk, providing a 360 coverage of the walk, at Taisho pond that offered beautiful views through out the whole of the day. Staff there spoke good english and offered flawless service....

I stayed at Taishoike hotel for 3 nights and was very happy with the experience. Initially I was worried that it was too far away from the main bridge area where there are more amenities, but then I realized it didn't matter because it was only 15 minutes walk or a bus ride. The rooms are clean, the view is...

All hotel accommodation at Kamikochi is very expensive but Taishoike was one of the more reasonable (AUD$384 for two people, one night, half board) and, after reading other reviews, we paid extra to secure a the lake view room. The western beds were comfortable, room was spacious and clean with free wi-fi. The hotel also has hot baths (separate male...

First, everything in Kamikochi is really expensive and in comparison it is propably one of the cheapest options you will find here. We payed almost 300 dollars a night for a room, including breakfast and a very nice dinner. The view and surrounding is to die for and the staff are the nicest most helpful people even though only a...

Chose this hotel because of it's great location. We paid more to get a room facing taisyoike and it's worth every single cent. We have the luxury of watching sun rise and snapping pictures from our window without battling the freezing temperature in the morning. One thing I would like to compliment about the hotel was the effort put in...
