This is a traditional Japanese guest house run by a family. The hosts are extremely helpful and did everything to make us welcome and comfortable. We were a large family group with small children, and stayed in the annex. It was spacious and comfortable, furnished in a traditional Japanese style. The annex has its own private toilets and cooking facilities....

When we arrived we organized the free train station pick up, which came in about 15 minutes, this is a lovely family run Ryokan. We stayed in the annex room, which was spacious, warm and had lovely views of the internal gardens. This room came with its own private toilet and the shower and was attached to the shared kitchen...

Visited Matsumoto for a couple of days. Stayed in this lovely Ryokan. Full Japanese experience. Great breakfast. Great communal (separate Male/female) bathroom with gorgeous hot water. But best of all was the friendly and helpful family owners. Our adult son had fallen previously and hurt his wrist. As a precaution we thought it best to go to a hospital and...

This is a nice place to stay, outside the centre and tourist areas, but still convenient to train station, city centre, old streets and castle by bus. Many local amenities very close to the Ryokan and easy to find using cute hand-drawn maps provided by the family. Breakfast is tasty and good value. Free train station pick-up and drop-off on...

We had a such a nice stay in Ryoken Seifuso, to be clear it is a traditional Japanese guest house so the rooms are simple and the bathroom facilities are shared but it's absolutely spotless. The owners are amazing, very helpful and friendly and dropped us off at the train station when we left, and gave us free use the...

I write with mixed feeling about this hotel. Good - The daughter is very friendly and well versed in English. She will tell you all the good place to eat. Room has great view of mountains and a river in front. Nearby are some restaurants and supermarket. They have free bicycles to let you roam around the city. Could be...

This was a lovely little ryokan in the beautiful town of Matsumoto. The owners are absolutely lovely and take great care of all the guests. The room and facilities are simple but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of good restaurants in the area for dinners.

Excellent family run ryokan. Clean and comfortable rooms. I recommend the Japanese breakfast they serve with fresh ingredients and yogurt served with honey from the grandfathers apiary. They offer a free pick up and drop off service from the train station. The daughter even delivered my passport to the station when I left it behind.

As I write this review, I am waiting for Asko, daughter of owner, to take us to our next facility when it opens. This family will drop their chores and drive their guests instead of guests calling a taxi. If you want a gracious family to be your hosts in Matsumoto, this is the place to stay. Great futons and...
