We had a such a nice stay in Ryoken Seifuso, to be clear it is a traditional Japanese guest house so the rooms are simple and the bathroom facilities are shared but it's absolutely spotless. The owners are amazing, very helpful and friendly and dropped us off at the train station when we left, and gave us free use the...

I write with mixed feeling about this hotel. Good - The daughter is very friendly and well versed in English. She will tell you all the good place to eat. Room has great view of mountains and a river in front. Nearby are some restaurants and supermarket. They have free bicycles to let you roam around the city. Could be...

This was a lovely little ryokan in the beautiful town of Matsumoto. The owners are absolutely lovely and take great care of all the guests. The room and facilities are simple but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of good restaurants in the area for dinners.

Excellent family run ryokan. Clean and comfortable rooms. I recommend the Japanese breakfast they serve with fresh ingredients and yogurt served with honey from the grandfathers apiary. They offer a free pick up and drop off service from the train station. The daughter even delivered my passport to the station when I left it behind.

As I write this review, I am waiting for Asko, daughter of owner, to take us to our next facility when it opens. This family will drop their chores and drive their guests instead of guests calling a taxi. If you want a gracious family to be your hosts in Matsumoto, this is the place to stay. Great futons and...

We had no place to sleep because a festival in town. This host did more than giving us a place to sleep. We got a very warm welcome, bikes to drive around and a superb support to find a place in (the also very busy town) Kamikochi. Perfect English, big room, clean, lovely parents and a breakfast made with love......

We stayed in Ryokan Seifuso a few days ago (20th June 2016) and had an amazing time! The family who run the Ryokan were lovely and made our stay special. Their daughter speaks perfect English which was really helpful as our Japanese is terrible. They did a free pick up from the station and the free bike usage meant we...

We had a short stay of two nights and it couldn´t have been better. The hosts are a lovely family who do everything to make you feelmost welcome. They received us very warmly and helped us with directions. They have free bikes which are super handy in Matsumoto and to get out to the hills. The rooms are just as...

My 3 children and I still reminisce of the beautiful, gentle, humble hospitality of Seifu Ryokan. We were there in December 2014 and used the complimentary use of bicycles but when they realised we didn't have gloves, the husband rummaged around for garden and mismatched gloves so that our fingers didn't freeze. They also offered us juicy, crunchy Fuji apples...
