I liked Everything about this place! It's a former ryokan (Traditional Japanese hotel) that is run by amazing staff. English friendly, offers a nice onsen and a beautiful and spacious lounge where you can relax.

Arrived late on new year's eve and was warmly welcomed and told that a countdown party will be held. Free flowing strong alcohol is always excellent. The next day, volunteer staff who can speak very good English brought guests to the nearby shrine for New Year prayers on their own accord. Tour desk dude also went out of the way...

We have been to K's house Ito several times and each time it was a pleasure. But this time it is under a new manager who is arrogant and somewhat uncaring of his customers. He treats the ryokan as his own house and encourages the staff to behave in a like manner. Our family was treated as if we were...

The whole hostel is so well-maintained and tastefully done up that it feels more like a hotel. The room for my family of 4 is big and cosy, with lovely view of the river. The kitchen is well equipped and there are many common areas for reading and mingling. Being a mere 10 minutes' walk away from the train and...

No meals are offered but there is a kitchen for everyone on the ground floor. Very clean and with free coffee (strong!) every morning. Extremly helpful staff that speaks excellent...

Great traditional style building with onsen for both males and females. Bathroom also features a small private onsen as well. Position is not far from the station and near a lot of restaurants. A nice place for us to relax on our way back to Tokyo.

This is a beautiful hostel in japanese style with an onsen that will allow people with tattoos. The onsen is for free which is a nice bonus. Rooms have tatami beds, which can be streneous for your back. It's definitely not a party place, but a nice hostel to relax at after spending many hectic days in Tokyo.

It was so cool to live in an old historical ryokan that was renovated to be a hostel. Loved the facilities (kitchen, washroom, bath and onsen, TV room, lounge areas) - everything was clean. Also, the staff were super friendly, great at explaining things, and fluent in English. The price is also very reasonable! We stayed in a mixed dormitory...
