The place is absolutely beautiful! The hostel is an old traditional Japanese house which is very well kept and with a slightly modern touch in the details. Staff is lovely and always very helpful. Atmosphere is very chilled out and nice. A very relaxing place to stay at and to meet people. During the day it turns into a very...

Its nicely located in the midst of the old town, close to the canal and to the temples. To the station you walk about 10 min. The staff was very helpful, showing me on the map what to see and where to go while in Kurashiki. The other guests welcomed me into their round, it was easy to meet others...

This guesthouse gives you kind of a traditional japanese experience, with small dorms where you sleep on the floor in a hundred year old house. Even though it was cool to experience, it was way too overpriced for what we got. One night the heater did not work, so it was freezing. The one toilet were placed in the backyard...

Thank you very much for staying with us. Sorry for any inconvenience about the heater and toilet. As our property has no air conditionings, this is the true that our building is freezing during winter. We provide guests a ‘yutanpo’ (Japanese hot water bottle to get warm in bed) as a traditional life experience. We have repaired our facilities one...

I stayed here only one night so my review would be super narrow but I'll do it anyway. I really enjoyed staying here. Staffs in here are very friendly and warmly welcomed me when I arrived here before check-in time. While processing check-in, the staff briefly introduced the concepts of Yurian and facilities. After then guests got an opportunity to...

Everything was awesome in this guesthouse. The facilities were clean, the location was perfect. The most impressed thing was really warm staff. They talked with the guests super friendly, and tell us many things about Kurashiki such as history, style of architecture, good place for dinner and so on. I really had good time here, so I'm pretty sure to...

I stayed at Yurinan for 3 nights, and loved every minute of it. Even though I was a solo traveller, the Guest House made it really easy to make friends. The communal area had a lovely big table where guests would sit and chat, and the staff would make every effort to talk to and make friends with guests (even...

Thank you very much for staying with us and taking a time to review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed staying and took a liking to Kurashiki. Thank you so much for staying with us! We are glad that you enjoyed Kurashiki and our atmosphere. We run café during the daytime in the same house. This sometimes makes guests confused but we are improving information which you can see before reservation. We keep doing our best. We had a wonderful time with you, see you again!

I stayed two nights at Yurinan, and old-style house in the Bikan-chiku (traditional buildings) area of the city, just 10 minutes walk from the station. The staff and other guests gave me a very warm welcome. It felt like my home away from home instantly. I shared a room with other Japanese girls, who became my new friends. The futons...

I stayed in a few nice backpackers hostels in Japan but this was way better- cheap, quiet, comfortable and warm. It is a traditional-style guesthouse, meaning that I slept in a futon on the floor. It was a "mixed dorm" but we were only two in the room. They have a tiny cute garden in the middle, wifi, small lockers...

U-Rin-An is a traditional lodging style, where you can experience sleeping on tatami mats in a traditional room. If you haven't read somewhere else, it functions as a guesthouse from 10-6:30, so you can't access the room before 6:30. However, you can always stay in the guest room before 6:390, so the review that says you have to wait outside...
