Stayed at this hotel because it is walking distance to JR Wakkanai station and the ferry terminal to Rishiri and Rebun islands. The hotel was built over 20 years ago and the rooms looked old and maybe need some refurbishment. WiFi worked well. Breakfast was a decent Japanese breakfast.

+ Clean and comfy rooms (japanese style, you sleep on floor mats) + Excellent service (we were offered a free shuttle to the ferry) Definitely recommended as a place to stay between your arrival in Wakkanai and your ferry departure.

We stayed here in August 2015, a family of two adults and four demanding teenagers. Owner is a very nice man, with good English and a helpful approach. He drove us to the ferry to the islands, and gave us excellent advice about where to eat. We would love to go back. Please note that this is a Japanese hotel,...

We visited Wakkanai in mid September 2015 and stayed here for 4 nights. Wakkanai is a small city that does not have much to do except for being the northernmost point of Japan and attractions are mostly based on that. Hyosetsuso is a short 5 minutes walk away from the JR railway station. Free parking is available and there are...

Wakkani is the most northern town in Hokkaido. It's quite remote and so we didn't expect many touristy areas here. We chose this place to stay mainly because of her convenient location (5-min walk from JR station) and reasonable price. The owner of this place speaks pretty good English. When we checked in, he gave us a comprehensive A4-sized tourist...

Very nice and pleasant hotel with small but clean rooms and very friendly staff (English speaking). This is the perfect place for resting after a long journey with a very affordable price. Placed very close to the rail station and ferry terminal and 5 minutes walk to some food area (sushi bars bun not only).

Now you have to keep in mind that Wakkanai is not really the hub of tourist activity. It's an extremely sleepy small town. The hotel sort of keeps up to that. I walked in at around 11 am and obviously everything was dead but there was someone at the reception. Decent size room with a small bathroom. It's a 5...

The position is perfect, few meters from JR station and ferry terminal. Hotel has japanese style rooms (with futon), very big and very clean. Wifi connection available on the lobby. Personnel very kind and with many information about what to do and what to see, restaurants, and so on. Very good choice if you're in town
