This is a nice traditional Japanese hotel with onsen facilities. Room is clean and spacious. Since it's next to the river, it's a bit noisy if you open the room window. Air conditioning is not so good, tend to be on the hot side. Traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast are included. Both are good but surprisingly I like the breakfast...

We (me, husband and nine-year old daughter) spent two nights in early March at Hotel Kajikaso. It was a lovely experience. Easy trip from our hotel in Tokyo (Shinjuku area) via the Odakyu "Romance car" train. Once we arrived at Hakone Yumoto station, we walked (10 minutes) to Kajikaso (although we did have to pop into a restaurant on the...

Undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my life. The place was so orthodox Japanese with accommodation & dining on the floor . The people at the front desk do not speak much english but are extremely warm & courteous. The whole concept of leaving your footwear outside was unique. The lady even cleaned the surface of our strolleys & insisted that...

Chose Hotel Kajikaso due to good reviews but the Main benefit was the close proximity to Hakone Yumoto Station. Had a seamless transfer from Shinjuku Station with the Hakone Romance Express Train straight to Yumoto. No need to courier our luggage to the hotel. Really important consideration with my 4 kids and a stroller. Being a backpacker decades ago, I...

We stayed at this hotel for one night with private onsen, full service dinner and breakfast, all in our room. Wow! What a Japanese experience! It is pricey but you get what you pay for. For those who are not use to open public onsen, then pay a little more to get the private one.

This is a very traditional Japanese hotel. It is an older hotel to remain the traditional Japanese style. The Japanese style dinner and breakfast were awesome. We were speechless about the varieties and amount of food that we were offered. The dining service was beyond awesome and not something you can find in the US anywhere. The hotel service was...

We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed very warmly by reception and other staff as well. This set the scene for a great stay. Our traditional room was very spacious. A hostess was on hand to explain the facilities and served green tea then left to allow us to settle in. We enjoyed dinner locally and returned to our room...

The location is in easy walking distance from the station, even with luggage. Good welcome from the staff, with an orientation tour of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner were served in our room. They were outstanding and gave us a great idea of traditional Japanese cuisine. The lady serving our meals was awesome and tried her very best to make...

We stayed for 2 nights and sincerely wish it had been more. The hotel itself is fairly big, but it has a large open lobby area, with lots of seats and good wi fi, and feels spacious and relaxing on arrival. There is a lovely outside foot onsen where you can relax and warm your feet while looking out at...

Kajikaso is only a short walk from the train station. Along the way is the "shopping street" (a very short stretch of shops). You can also walk along to river behind and come from the back of the hotel. The room is very big and comfortable. Dinner is serve in our room. You can select the timing and they will...
