I stayed here during a tour of Japan with Overseas Adventure Travel. First of all, I highly recommend staying at a ryokan while visiting Japan. It is such an authentic, Japanese experience. The rooms were quite large, and have their own sitting area and a large bathroom with a sunken tub. There are fridges in each room. Our dinner was...

What an experience to stay in a Japanese style hotel! Futons very comfortable and we thought to double the mats on the second night. Breakfast was beautiful in taste and display and dinner wonderful as well. We stayed as a group and it was the highlight of the trip to stay in a traditional place.

Japanese ryokan's can be so much fun. Sleeping on a futon is comfortable and the room at the hotel reflected the environment. Unfortunately, once the 2 futons were down, there was little more room and it was disappointing to have this happen by 4.30 in the afternoon. The "individual help" was not. The Japanese hot bath was great and relaxing

This was our tour stop near Mt. Fuji and other sites. The staff was very friendly, although little English spoken. Good Japanese meals and service, eaten as a group. Tatami mats, futon sleeping, Asian bath area (tho Western toilet). Downstairs had women's and men's hot bath areas. Could have been a little cleaner and in better repair--we were spoiled by...

I wish I could rate the food separately as it deserves six stars. It is hard to find enough superlatives to describe the Gora Asahi dinner banquets. Multiple courses of multiple small dishes, each beautifully arranged and carefully prepared. (Note that I am a pescetarian and the chef accommodated my diet with food as delicious and as beautiful as the...

Wonderful place to experience traditional Japanese rooms. Meals were great and beautifully presented. They even bring tea to your room when you check in, plus you can make your own with the tea and hot water dispenser in the room.

Although there is much to do in the Hakone area, I think of this ryokan as a destination in itself. It s something to experience while you are in Japan. The rooms are spacious and the staff is gracious. I felt as though I was visiting someone's home. The bath experience is incredible, the cuisine is absolutely amazing and not...

This is a wonderful little spa that caters to families that have been coming here for years. The rooms are basic tatami mat style no-shoe Japanese rooms. Try the karaoke with the locals at the bar, get an inexpensive massage, luxuriate in the hot water spa, eat elegantly prepared traditional food while you wear your Yukata robe. What a blast!

The hotel staff are very friendly and they provide a great Ryokan experience for travelers. The rooms are very traditional and very clean. It was worth the experience. The only negatives is the fact it does not have a gym/fitness room and it does not have wireless/Internet connectivity. The rooms can also get a little warmer than most westerners would...

Nice spacious traditional Ryokan rooms that have previously been described accurately so I will not describe them again in this review. Staff were very helpful and kind. The food prepared for our group for breakfasts and dinners were amongst the best we had while in Japan. Multiple courses of elegant morsels that I will never forget. I wish we could...
