We caught the H bus from Odawara and alighted at Hakone-en. Cross the road and the Ryokan is opposite. Takes about 40 minutes on the bus. Tip, forward your luggage as there is limited space on the bus and it makes travelling quite stress free....More

Open air onsen has Hot spring water, quite hot.
There is an outside shower with regular tap water, also under open roof, but no inside shower or bath.
Actually it's really nice regardless of the weather.

dinner will probably be the trickiest as they tend to serve very traditional Japanese options, so I would recommended getting in touch with them well in advance so they can accommodate. Breakfast shouldn't be a problem... More
dinner will probably be the trickiest as they tend to serve very traditional Japanese options, so I would recommended getting in touch with them well in advance so they can accommodate. Breakfast shouldn't be a problem at all as they have a western style option (which includes things like toast/croissants/eggs and fruit- was actually all very nice!)
