The hotel is in a circular building and the guide book in the room has a page showing the major sights seen from the room numbers shown on the 360 floor plan. Perhaps rooms 1-20 might have best views of the Yokohama area and Yokohama Bay Bridge and Tokyo Tower. Rooms 25-30 might have the best views of Mt. Fuji...

I arrived on a national holiday, so the queue for check-in was quite long. If I had known this beforehand, I would have left my luggage a bit longer at the storage, and would have taken more time to check the surrounding mall and station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room I had (moderate single room) was...

This is a nice place. But far from main tourist attractions, but it's right next to a main train station where you can even catch the bullet train. There is a shuttle that goes direct to and from Narita station, but it does stop before 8pm. The service is incredible. Very clean spot and a lot of food choices in...

Stay here regularly, great location, train station next door, mall inside the hotel, grocery stores in the basement level and shops in the main lobby area. Typical Japanese hotel rooms, very small feels like a cruise ship cabin. Experienced a earthquake back in Nov 2016 building swayed but everything was fine.

We had to stay here for one night (courtesy of the airline) after our flight to Sapporo was diverted to Tokyo due to a snowstorm. We arrived at this hotel at about 10:30 pm after being stuck on the plane for 12 hours. For my family of 3 (one adult and 2 kids under 10), they gave me one twin...

I went for a business trip and spent five day in Shin Yokohama. The hotel, though a bit old, was suitably managed and kept in perfect condition. It was right next to the JR station and subway which made travelling, dining and shopping very convenient, even when it was in the late evening. The hotel had a 24-hr operated 7-11...

The hotel space is quite huge and the building is tall but the room is very small and it was hard to move together inside. The view from the room was industrial Yokohama city style. Instead of booking hotel's buffet breakfast it's better to eat out in the local caffe or restaurants. Hotel's buffet is narrow in food varieties.

We stayed overnight and I could not wait to leave. Our room was next to the elevator shaft and all night long was the whoosh of the elevator flying up and down. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Shin Yokohama is a sculptured, urban-style building rising 42 floors above ground. The gentle, cylindrical shape gives it a futuristic appeal. Just 16 minutes from downtown Tokyo, the hotel is connected to the Shin Yokohama Shinkansen Station and the Shopping Plaza Prince Pepe, making it a convenient hub for both business and leisure activities. The area surrounding the hotel is in itself a large amusement complex featuring various sports facilities, including a skating rink, indoor tennis courts and bowling alleys. Also nearby are the landmarks of exotic Yokohama city, Chinatown, the hillside parks and the Yokohama Bay port. ... more   less
