The staff was extremely helpful. The accommodations were delightful and the food was delicious. This is a hotel I will stay at for my next visit to the Nara Prefecture. It's location was perfect to all the must see attractions and close to the shopping district. I highly encourage anyone staying in Nara to stay at the Hotel New Wakasa!

A visit to Nara should be on everyone's bucket list. Hotel New Wakasa is the ideal place to stay. It's walking distance to everything worth visiting, buying and eating and the staff are so friendly and helpful they go out of their way to help. We had two Japanese style rooms in the Annexe. Wakasa is a small accommodation on a local street in Nara. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with wonderful food. Bathrooms had Shisedo products and spacious shower/bath area. Decor could be updated but overall a nice stay with helpful staff.

Lovely stay, very helpful and accommodating staff. Extremely welcomed on arrival, greeted us friendlily. Rooms are neat and clean, onsen is small but quiet with very few people. Shower room is very spacious with personal space. Breakfast is delicious, very traditional. All in all, wonderful. Made us feel home. Highly recommended.

The hotel is set near the parks in the older area of the city, we were a bit suspicious walking towards it but when we found...

The hotel is closely located to Nara park, which is ideal for sightsseing but not so close to Naramachi, where the restaurants and a decent nightlife is situated. The hotel sits next to a main street which is somewhat noisy and which can be heard from the rooms and the surrounding of the hotel is not very attractive. After a...

I have included pictures of the evening meal we had at this hotel It was not cheap but it was still very good value The service is excellent and although a little tricky to find initially it is well located near Nara Park where most of the best sight seeing is located

Staff try to be nice but not very successfully. Very restrictive with meal times. Really far away from JR Nara St. bu quite near to the Todaiji. Room was very big in traditional japanese style, onsen were nice and they give you a 'yukata' to stay in the hotel. Abundant kaiseki meals (breakfast and dinner). They give you deer cookies...
