One of our favourite hostels in Japan! Staff are super friendly and helpful. We got some great food recommendations, space to keep our bags after check out, free tea, and a good night of sleep. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a really lovely old Japanese garden too, which was a beautiful bonus on a...

Best guesthouse I've stayed in in Japan! Clean and tidy, friendly staff, nice rooms, quiet, well worth the price. Amazing common area with view into the gorgeous garden. Great location to explore the city!

The guest house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood close to Nara Park. The house is 100 years old and has a lot of the original details. Plus good beds. The house also has it's own Japanese garden, which completed the authentic feel. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

I was blown away by our medium private room we booked for two nights. It is beautiful. Some of the staff are more knowledgeable than others but very willing to try to help you out. It is a short walk to Nara park and some restaurants.

It's a really quaint and pretty place to stay in, sad that we only stayed for one night. It's nice to be able to wake up and walk down the steps to a pretty garden view in the morning. Everything was clean, the bunk bed was comfortable (we slept in a female dorm) and they had all sort of amenities....

Stayed for three nights in a private traditional style room. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. It is walkable to all of the main sights to see in Nara. This is a Japanese take on hostel accommodation and, as with much of Japanese interpretations, you will not be disappointed.

A great place to stay, very confortable. This typical japanese house is beautiful! The staff is great and I made very good friends during my stay. You can use the kitchen whenever you need to eat. The rooms are shared, I stayed in a four bed room, with private lockers to each one. There are two bathrooms, found no problem...

This has been one of the best places which we have stayed in whilst visiting Japan. I have to start by saying that the staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly. They give you a full tour on arrival, and a handy map, they even go on to highlight the main places to visit and places to eat. The guesthouse...

The gardens are beautiful and the house is an incredible insight into old Japan. But there are downsides - the paper screen doors are not effective when it Comes to soundproofing and there is no heating or air con. I like sleeping on futons but this one was really, really hard. The place is very hard to find the first...

A 100 year old house with a beautiful garden. A really nice staff. This guest house is clean and quiet. I spent two great weeks here. I highly recommend this guest house to all people in passing on Nara.

“We stayed in the mixed dorm, which was a collection of three bunk beds. It was very cozy and comfortable. The private rooms with tatami mat floors looked very comfortable and a little more roomy. The female dorm look liked it was a little bit more cramped. Rooms nearer the street (away from the common areas and kitchen would be quieter)”

“The large room for 4 persons is quite comfortable. Try to avoid the room used for tea ceremony as it is connected directly to the garden and may be cold.”
