I loved this guest house. The lady is really warm and has a funny voice. The place is a japanese house but really nice. please make a map to go there because is a little bit tricky from the train station. (but if you have clear the indication, no problem). Try the japanese brakfeast was really interesting.

I stayed here with a friend for 2 nights. Both the women's and men's dorms, from our experience, were very clean. Kotoge-san, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and serves a delicious breakfast for only 300 yen everyday. She is very willing to help travelers with trip planning and offer maps from her stock for a myriad sites. The location is...

My niece and I stayed here for one night. We walked about 30 minutes from the Nara JR station partly due to getting lost after arriving past 7pm and walking under a downpour. Upon arrival, we were welcomed and checking in was fairly straightforward. We had the room to ourselves which was nice. The guesthouse location is within walking distance...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights and loved our stay! We had breakfast for ¥300 per day and it was the most delicious breakfast I received while in Japan. Conveniently located in a lovely area, the guesthouse was fantastic for exploring locally on bikes (able to be rented from the owner for only ¥300/day!!) or for day...

Stayed two nights at Guest House Tamura and overall had a good stay. The female dorm is snug if fully occupied but having the in-room sink helps and the bathroom and common area are closeby. Beds are very comfortable and shower is always hot. Location is great, it's in the old part of Nara, Naramachi, with great streets to walk...

The tiny place is located just outside Nara Hotel in a narrow alley. It is a bit hard to find it, however, the place is friendly and with a nice hostess. You can pay for the home made breakfast Japanese style the night before. It is authentic and delicious. The location is not far from Nara train station and deer...

Only about 15 min. walk from Nara station, and really close to the park. The owners were very sweet and prepared delicious breakfast for a reasonable price every morning. They also prepared a Japanese style bath every evening for everyone to soak in one after the other, which was very welcomed after a full day of exploring temples. I would...

The host is very friendly and helpful. She can speak a little Cantonese as lived in HK before so no problem for my non-English and non-Japanese speaking mother to communicate with her :P The house is located in local residential area near Nara Park so it's easy to access to local restaurants and it's not far from Kintetsu Nara station...

For a unique city like Nara, there couldn’t be a more suitable place to stay. Confort, tranquility, a very tradicional old japanese style house and a personal and kind attention by the owner made our stay in Tamura Guesthouse an unforgettable experience. Our spacious Japanese style room had a pleasant view to the garden and was very quiet and comfortable....
