Ibusuki Hakusuikan is a "modern" Ryokan-style hotel with a predominately Japanese clientele. We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the ocean and the option of western beds or futons in the separate tatami area. The big attraction of Ibusuki Hakusuikan are the the hot (and cold) spring activities (onsen) including a very unusual Sunamushi where you are buried...

It was easy to access Ibusuki Hakusuikan by taxi from JR Ibusuki station. It is a large resort with indoor and outdoor onsens, restaurants, coffee shops, karaoke. There was a museum with an Italian restaurant adjacent to the main building. With the precious collections of the owner, it was another highlight of the trip. We stayed 2 nights, we had...

Sand Bath was such an experience..was very relaxed and interesting under the hot sand to be buried. They offer also huge Onsen with various bath tubs with different temperatures and effects . The Japanese restaurant offered all local specialty. Very tasty. Great ryokan with western standards comfort.

It is the number one in Ibusuki. If you don’t drive, you can take the hotel shuttle bus from the JR station. I couldn’t make it and I took the taxi. It only cost around 800yen. I booked a room directly facing the sea. It’s a pity that the weather was not good. Otherwise, the view should be gorgeous. The...

Impressive resort with spacious onsen area to enjoy hot spring and the regional-special sand steamed hot spring! Free shuttle bus service from Ibusuki JR station to the resort (twice a day). Enjoyed free upgrade to room type (花の棟 和洋室) which could view the beautiful sunrise! Nice dining place as well.

Enjoyed almost everything about this place. Friendly service. Nice pool area with hammocks. Dinner was excellent and they accommodated my no pork/beef request. Only recommendation is to allow customers to take their own pictures at Sunamushi. Would definitely come back in the future.

In fact I didn't stay in the hotel, I was going there to have the lunch in their Italian restaurant Fenice and visit the museum. But at least I could say the hotel is quite big, very friendly and attentive staff. Abt JPY 1000 by taxi from JR station. The food from Fenice is amazing, with a breathtaking view from...

A spacious resort hotel of very high quality. A fine mix of Japanese tradition and western lifestyle. Excellent service and really good food inspired by the local cuisine. Beutifull big onsen/hot springs overlooking the sea including hot sandbath and hotstone sauna.

Some of the Ibusuki shops/hotel has close down their business. Not sure what's the reason. Ibusuki is a very quiet town. If you like busy city, this will not be the place for you. The hotel is situated 1-2 min walk to sand onsen. It is very clean and neat. You can hear the ocean wave all the long. Beach...

Impressive, massive resort hotel. Very large complex, some rooms older than others. Spacious onsen and nearby access to outdoor sand baths. Rooms both western and traditional Japanese. Free Wi-Fi. Excellent range of local shochu. Impeccable service hospitality. Some English speaking staff.
