We secured a corner twin room for $101 a night! Wasn't expecting much, but pleasantly surprised with the space and comfort! The hotel appeared fairly new, and it is located across from the main Morioka railway station - ideally situated to tour this very walkable city! Free soft drinks and juice provided in a room looking out to the station. Free machine coffee, tea etc too. We didn't try the breakfast option as plenty of cafes offering reasonably priced breakfast in the staton building. There is also a convenience store on the ground floor. If you use the hotel laundry area, you can monitor the progress of your laundry from your room television! We rated this hotel very highly.

Because of this stay, I would like to stay at another Richmond Hotel. The room is spacious, the layout is very good (there are small shelves in many corners of the room where it makes it easy to put stuff yet not giving a cluttered feel. This hotel is right opposite the Morioka station and 2 min walk to Seiroukaku where we thoroughly enjoyed the reimen (like Korean naengmeon yet it is tastier, and very good yakiniku).

Breakfast was very good too, and they helped us complete our quest to try Morioka 3 noodles (they served wanko noodles during breakfast)!

Great hotel very reasonably priced and right opposite the train station. The room was larger than we have experienced elsewhere in Japan and the hotel staff were all very friendly and kind. There is a 24 hour convenience store at the hotel base which was so useful for random snacks and drinks! Hotel also placed near several great restaurants as well as a myriad of shopping within the station itself (including a Lindt store for chocolate lovers). Very convenient base for exploring Morioka.

A very well-located hotel in front of Morioka Station.
There is a convenience store on the first floor.
There are many restaurants in the area.
Because it has been open for several years, the buildings and guest rooms are new and well-cleaned.
There is an air purifier, refrigerator, trouser press, electric kettle and pajamas in the room. Amenities include emulsion of snowy skin and cosmetics, and a system of taking coffee and other items from the lobby.
The bed is comfortable to sleep in.
The desk was very spacious and easy to work at.
More of a business hotel.
Richmond Hotel members would appreciate a Check-out at 12:00.
The front desk staff were all pleasant.

A good location right opposite train station. Head out from the station towards the bus station you can see the hotel opposite. There is a busy road to cross but, fear not, there is an underpass to help you get to the hotel.

Check in was good with an English speaking clerk.

Our room was larger than I expected for a Japanese business hotel. It was clean and comfortable with a wifi which worked well. A bonus was the second floor lounge with free coffee and soft drinks. Also there is a 24 hour convenience store attached to the hotel.

At check in we had been warned that the hotel was full and that breakfast would be busy, so we chose not to book it and get supplies for breakfast from the store. Good decision seeing the length of the queue the next morning.

Despite the cold weather and the busy road our room was warm and quiet with an interesting view of the comings and goings at the railway and bus stations.

The hotel proved more than adequate for an overnight stay.

I booked this hotel at the last second after an unexpected change of plans, and it was a pleasant surprise after a stressful day. They are utilizing technology, possibly to the point of overkill- if you can't figure out how to control something in the room, it's probably via your television. The hotel room was clean and nice. Drinks were available in the breakfast room during the day. It's also possible to do your own laundry here and monitor its progress via your television. The location is excellent if you're heading to the train station. It was the approximate equivalent of a Holiday Inn Express. I have never stayed at this brand of hotels before and will look for it in the future.

Excellent location, just directly opposite JR train station & bus stations. Lawson convenience store linked to lobby floor. Many shops & dining within area & in train station. Spacious room, modern interior, "new" hotel , very comfortable room & bed. Excellent soundproof - no outside noise despite facing busy main road, bus & train stations. Staff service were excellent - very warm & welcoming. They even gave each of us a welcome gift. The only negative thing is the handheld remote control for room lights- not functioning well ( maybe battery weak ) nor useful. But small issue. Definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in Japan, if not worldwide.

Excellent location from the train station and the main street. Beautiful views from the nearby bridge and river. The hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable. They told us that our check-in was at a later time and gave us the option to pay around ¥1,000 to check-in early but then there was an issue on their end. It took them about half an hour to get it all resolved. This was stressful, especially after a long day of walking, switching trains and dragging suitcases. All we wanted was to be able to check-in smoothly and go rest in our room.

This is a standard business hotel with good rooms with all the standard amenities. Rooms are comfortable and the staff very friendly. A couple of problems. First, breakfast is not very good. I’d skip it and w as ok across the street to the station. It has a half dozen coffee shops/bakeries. Next, we used the self service laundry and half our clothes came out with some spots on them. We’re going to have to rewash them and pray for the best! Lastly, housekeeping needs some help. When I first got to my room, there was a half-eaten persimmon in my fridge and some lip balm under my bed.

I’m at the end of a three night stay at the Richmond Hotel in Morioka. The hotel is in a great location, opposite Morioka Station. The hotel appears to be new and has a Lawson convenience store with an entrance in the lobby. Check in is largely self-checkin, but when I checked in staff were present to help. My room on the 8th floor is easily comfortable for two people, even though it’s a single. And the bed is both large and comfortable. Even the bathroom is larger than many of my recent stays at other hotels. I’ve stayed at Richmond hotels in other cities and have always been pleased. They are not luxury hotels, but they are very comfortable and well-thought out hotels. I would call them dependable. And for the cost, a great deal in my view. I did not try the breakfast, but all indications in the hotel are that it is good, with regional specialties available. One other big plus for me is that the hotel is quiet. No noise in the halls. None from outside. And none from train departures. Overall, a great stay.
