Depending on what you're looking for, Tortilis is a good--and often reasonable--option in Amboseli. The tents are lovely, the food is good, and our guide was very knowledgeable. Although no one in my group was a big drinker, we all agreed that we prefer properties that include basic drinks (including alcoholic beverages) in the daily rate. It's a very small...

I had 3 nights here in late January while on a photographic Safari. It was my first visit to Amboseli and I could not have picked a better camp. While it is not brand new and it is showing some signs of age, the tented accommodation was very comfortable, the lounge and dining areas were large with a good view...

This was the first tented camp we visited in Kenya, and the camp in the Elewana Collection of African resorts and hotels. A very good experience here, with incredible service, delicious food and drink, sociable, knowlegable, and gracious staff, very comfortable accommodations, and 2 days of game drives amongst many troops of Elephants and diverse game. After about a week...

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the camp and game drives. The hosts were great, the room was clean and well equipped, the food was super good, and the views outstanding. Our guide was very knowledgeable - especially for birds. (But all else too.) Don't know how they could have made it better.

My first time back here in 10 years and its still one of the best tented camps in Kenya. Great accommodation, views, service and especially the food. Pool is too cold as is the practice in Kenya camps, but I guess some people like that. The location just outside the park boundaries allows one to do bush walks. Easily the...

Lovely camp with very clean well spaced tents with views of the bush and Kilimanjaro. Staff is so helpful and thinks of everything. Our guide Johnston enabled us to have up close viewings with 'Craig' one of the largest bulls in Amboseli

Booked 2 nights. Stayed 3. So happy to have found a tented camp that also is very high end, but not over the top. Lovely area, great staff. Wish we could have stayed longer. Bar prices are really good, cheaper than drinking at a bar at the coast. Really good wines. Excellent food. Refreshing swimming pool. (It gets hot in...

We spent two nights at Tortilis Camp as part of our recent Kenya trip and loved our time there (1 night Nairobi, 3 nights Fairmont Mt. Kenya, 2 nights Giraffe Manor, 2 nights Tortilis Camp, 2 nights Elephant Pepper Camp). We flew in to Amboseli in the morning. Our driver had coffee, tea, and snacks waiting for us by the...
