We were in a group and had two nights at Elephant Bedroom Camp in Samburu. Wish we were here for longer! The tents are luxurious, with a plunge pool overlooking the river. Elephants and other wildlife pass by during the day (see photos). The staff and hospitality were 10/10. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were absolutely amazing - as good as any top restaurant from a major city. This is an ideal camp resort for a safari, or just switching off and unwinding. On our last night we were treated to a magical sundowner. Highly recommend, and would love to come again in the future.

This hotel has all the luxury we could ask for. Having breakfast with elephants walking close to us is a life time experience. But that is not everything, the tents were AMAZING, beautiful, safe, extremely confortables, with a private little pool and a beautiful view. The staff is incredibly nice, always helping and smiling. The food is so tasty, with different options to choose. I don’t like garlic, I said that just once, and the waiter and the Cheff took care of it during the whole stay. The place is so safe, there is always guards to take care of you and walk with you to the tent. They even take care of you food. Carmen, the manager, is the best. She runs the place perfectly well, you can see she is always around taking care of EVERYTHING, and you can see her efforts worth it, because everything is perfect. Thank you for the perfect stay ever, we won’t forget this place and it’s people.

Elephant Bedroom Camp was a bit disappointing after we had such an amazing experience at the Mara North Conservancy. The accommodations were great and our waiter, Moses was so attentive and kind. The game drives left much to be desired after seeing so much in The Mara. We know that much of this is beyond anyone's control bc of drought/extreme temperatures and dryness but if you are looking to see anything aside from elephants, do NOT book a stay here. The only wildlife we saw on our game drives were elephants and various birds, and a few cat sightings here and there. If you are looking for a true authentic experience, do not come to Samburu. Instead, spend your time and money in the Mara. Our driver and guide Robert was also so kind and truly tried his best to make everyone happy. Again, what we saw/didn't see on our game drive is beyond anyones control. We did have a few issues with Elephant Bedroom. First, we were asked to pay for the Conservancy fee's when we were picked up from the air strip, despite this being taken care of by our travel agents. This caused us a bit of stress as we thought we had to scramble now for a significant amount of cash. It was NOT our drivers fault as the camp manager/person in charge never communicated anything to him and this is something that should never happened. No one ever apologized to us or mentioned it upon arrival until I mentioned it first. Our agency profusely apologized instead. This also wasn't the first time there was an issue with communication. On our last game drive before departing for Uganda, another party opted to sleep in (and communicated this to staff the night prior) but despite this we were left waiting almost an hour because camp management did not relay this information to Robert, our guide. Because of this, we lost an hour of our game drive time waiting for a party that ultimately never planned to show. This was extremely frustrating. There should have been someone on site at the time to address this aside from the guides trying to reconcile and figure out what to do. We lost valuable time that we will never get back. The attention to detail was definitely noticeable and lacking at Elephant Bedroom. For the price you're paying, I expected so much better. The room was spectacular and arguably the best amongst the three places we stayed during our trip so that was a plus. The meals were very mediocre. Breakfast was by far the best, and desserts were often inedible and not worth trying.

Thank you for your detailed review. We have taken the opportunity to investigate the information contained therein in detail and would like to point out the following: First, we appreciate all comments from our guest, be they negative or positive .In addition to this, we take all guest comments very seriously as they give us a different perspective and assist us to improve our services. In relation to the park fees, we found out that there was an oversight on our part. The driver guide who was assigned to you was not fully aware of the fact that the park fees were inclusive in your package. He is a new employee and not fully conversant with the system in use at the camp. We would like to apologize for this. We have taken steps to ensured that the pre arrival briefing system for guides is enhanced to avoid similar occurrences in future. The manager has confirmed that she met you while you were having lunch and apologized to you for this oversight. On your delayed game drive this again came about as a result of the cancellation by the other guests who opted to sleep in. The resulting confusion led to your delayed departure for the game drive. The driver guide confirms that the delay was however less than one hour. Kindly accept out apologies for the lost time. On the inclusive drinks. Unlike your bookings in Mara, we can confirm that your package at our camp which was a ground package typically does not include drinks, unless requested and a supplement paid. Your agent did none of these things while making your booking wth us. It is clear the oversight here was by your agent, as he did not clarify this to you. We are also looking into our guest meals with particular the desserts. This is surprising to us as our guests normally praise the meals and we are looking into the possibility of addressing any shortfalls that may exist, particularly the desserts. It was a pleasure to have you as our guests and we hope we will have the opportunity to host you again so that we can change your perception of our camp.

We stayed at three tented camps during our stay in Kenya and this one was our least favorite. The accommodation was fine but the food and service was disappointing. Our guide was more interested in whizzing around in the game vehicle than taking his time to tell us about what we were seeing. Unlike the other camps where each staff member went out of their way to make our stay really special, the staff at Elephant Bedroom Camp did not seem the least bit interested in us or our needs.

Thank you for your review on our camp. We are disappointed to learn that your stay with us did not meet your expectations. We are also surprised as the area of food, service and personalized attention to guests by our staff are among the things that most of our guests point out as the highlights of their say with us. They also give the game drive experience and our driver guide professionalism, a very high rating. We do however take all our guest comments, reviews, complaints and observations very seriously. We are looking into what could have caused your say with us could have been disappointing to you. We will endeavor to make corrections where ever they are required to ensure that we do not receive similar comments.

Talk about an appropriate name! We had an amazing time with the Samburu elephants. Our guide, James, needs a specific shoutout for his tracking abilities, knowledge, and respect for nature and the animals. His love for the Samburu elephants shines threw every second (and you can see it in his constant smile!) Our room/tent was gorgeous - a perfect/tasteful combination of comfort, luxury, and culture. In fact, the decor/vibe of the entire facility felt this way. We enjoyed all of our meals and especially appreciated a special honeymoon private dinner they set up for us riverside. Our bush breakfast was memorable to say the least: we watched MULTIPLE families of elephants splash across the river, bathing themselves in mud, from the riverbed! The sun downer was also a great end to our time there - a fun, social gathering with other guests. A special little touch was that the camp (James actually) had rescued a baby impala December 2021 (Tamu). Tamu turned one just a few weeks ago and walked us to and fro with security at night and with our bags upon arrival and leaving. William, our server was kind and attentive and Carmen, the camp manager, just filled the place with joy. We also STRONGLY recommend spa services with Eunice- her hands are magical. The ONLY comment for improvement that we have would be that the beds were very hard (and we typically like firm mattresses).

We arrived at Elephant Bedroom after 7 nights of safari at camps in Laikipia and it was yet another amazing place with a touch more luxury which was very welcome. Sitting in a plunge pool on your veranda whilst an elephant strolls past is quite something! The mongoose families were endearing and comical and a couple of Thomson's gazelles were quite friendly. The game drives with Julius were brilliant, he knew everything and were to find it. It was lovely to see that the owners had organised food distribution for the local communities as the lack of proper rains has been hard. Gabriel made sure the restaurant ran like clockwork and the food and the choices were excellent - lots for vegetarians to choose from. We also hooked up with a lovely couple from SA who knew a lot about birds and we began to see a whole new side to game drives. The highlight was a helicopter trip to Reteti elephant orphanage, organised by Leckie Safari's but the staff at Elephants Bedroom could not have been more helpful in sorting it out, sending us off and welcoming us home. We will be back in a heartbeat when i am next lucky enough to be in Kenya!

We recently spent two nights at the Elephant Bedroom camp in Samburu Park. It was a very memorable experience. The tents are lovely with private bathrooms and a plunge pool on the deck. The views of the river give you a front row seat to watch the animals coming for a drink. The game drives were fantastic with our drivers James and Julius. Both were knowledgable about the animals and birds and fun too. We saw soooo many animals - elephants, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, lions, zebras, ostriches, even a tortoise and many more. Our last game drive at this camp ended with a fun ride to see the leopard. Definitely, an unforgettable experience. Thanks James and Julius! The food was delicious and our waiters, Josaphat and his helper, were friendly and helpful. The camp is open to the wild life so it is not uncommon to see wildlife right in the camp. There is an elephant (Obama) that roams through the camp frequently. There is a tame impala (it was orphaned and rescued by James) that lives in the camp. The spoonbills like to steal things off your plate if you decide to leave your plate unattended. The monkeys are fun to watch. They'll try to sneak into the plunge pools and race across your tent deck. Carmen, the camp host, makes sure that everyone is safe and having a good time.

Our recent visit to Elephant bedroom camp was a wonderful experience. Tents are private and luxurious, meals are delicious, and the views can't be beat. All the tents face the river with a view of elephants playing on the opposite bank (and occasionally coming right through camp)! Days begin with "wake up" hot beverages and cookies delivered to your tent, followed by an early morning game drive. Then return to camp for buffet breakfast. Lunch and dinner were both selected from a daily menu and the food was great. The camp is open to the wildlife and guards are posted to escort you to your room at night. During the downtime, we watched monkeys playing on the tents and in the grass, watched the elephant families come to the river to play, watched mongoose scamper around the tents, and took a dip in the private plunge pool on the patio. By far the best part of our adventure were the game drives with our amazing drivers James and Julius. These guys can track the animals by watching the behavior of the herds of antelope, by the monkeys calling in the trees, by observing footprints in the sand, and just by sheer talent! By the last game drive of our stay, we had seen nearly every animal the park has to offer - except the leopard. When James and Julius got a call on the radio that one had been spotted, we raced to the location to see this majestic animal, even though we were supposed to have returned to camp earlier. What a memorable end to a terrific stay! Thank you to Carmen and all her wonderful staff, but especially James and Julius.

A wonderful camp in the Samburu National Park, perfect for game drives to see the unique animal species in that part of Kenya. It has the perfect combination of rustic and luxury. Even though you are in a tent in the middle of the African bush there is wifi, haridryers, comfy beds, hot showers, flushing toilets, etc etc!! Each tent has a plunge pool on the veranda and it is such fun watching the monkeys and baboons coming to drink from them!! Also elephants wander through the camp daily, sometimes pausing for a quick drink from the plunge pools!! The camp has a resident tame impala called Tamu who was saved by James when he found her at a few days old beside her dead mother. He brought her back to the camp and she was bottle fed by the staff! James was our driver/guide and did a fabulous job finding us the 'big 5 '. Not only was he very knowledgeable aboout the animals and where to find them, he had a great sense of humour making it all fun!! For those of you environmentally conscious, the camp is run entirely on solar energy day and night as they have a very sophisticatd system of solar panels and batteries. Thank you Carmen, (camp manager) for creating such a lovely warm and welcoming place to stay. Asante Sana!

We had a great time at Elephant Bedroom! - The tent is clean and modern - Lunch is tasty, especially the lamb/beef stews - Unfenced camp with lots of opportunities to see animals closely. (Obama is my favourite) - Service is great, and the camp manager Carmen setup a special dinner for our honeymooners, thank you so much! - Our guide James is great! There're lots of unique desert animals in the park
