Comfy bed, basic room. First room smelt of cigarette smoke so asked to move, 2nd room was better. Reasonable for a good price stop over but wouldn't rush back to stay here. Location was okay but again nothing special.

First thing, front staff (two ladies) were nice and courteous. We requested for a quiet located room ( Superior King) before arrival because we saw the internet feedback from hotel guests that disco pub is nearby and can hear the music so loud in wee hours. The front of the hotel have an ongoing constructions which is noisy and it's not the hotel's fault. Our room was quiet enough but can tell the disco beat from the Pub is ongoing throughout our sleeping hours, but we can sleep well (Superior King window is inside the lobby). Take note not all rooms are quiet-located rooms so it depends on the availability of the room. Our request was granted maybe because that day is not a weekend and not peak season. Hotel is clean and have a nice decor and the red color paint made the hotel pretty. Can consider this hotel for the convenient location from JB Immigration and nearby malls like City Square, Komtar etc and the price is affordable.
Cons: Wifi is not stable so you will always log on the password repeatedly.

I like that the hotel was clean, near JB Sentral (though you'd have to walk streets
where sketchy people lurk), and nice-looking for its level but you could hear the weekend parties (sound-proof the windows, maybe?) at night. I was not able to sleep well for 2 nights and I could also hear the noise from the next room. The chiller is also not functioning well. It was a nice room but I'd probably book elsewhere next time; for the price I paid, I could get a better one.

Enjoyed our stay in the hotel. It's located within 5 minutes walk from either City Square Mall or Komtar, conveniently located. Check-in and out was fast and easy. There are some toiletries provided in the room like toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, bath soap (liquid & bar), shower cap, toilet roll, they also provided bottled waters and a hand sanitizer. Our room was clean and quiet, just that if the neighboring room bangs the door you can absolutely hear it. Overall okay and will definitely be back again.

I didn't read any reviews before I booked ciq hotel. I just booked as I need it need a hotel near embassy. To my biggest surprise, the hotel is so nicely renovated and near to all the eateries and shopping mall like city Square and immigration. Best of them is the excellent service by receptionist Alice and her manager. They know I need to take care of my wheelchair dad and even suggest a few rooms that will need my family's needs and they assist me to carry the luggages and pushed the wheelchair. The manager even personally showed me around the premises as I am new to the hotel. Alice was so bubbly and cheery always checking on my father's well being and assisting us in booking grab. Other hotel staff are just as approachable like the housekeeping staff. The hotel has a nice roof top and I had a good view of the Fireworks too. If you are travelling with family especially senior. This is a hotel for you. The staff will go out to help you and I was so blessed to have met them!
With their 24 hrs round the clock reception, I feel so safe in this hotel . The doors are locked and only open when you are the guest. I really highly recommended this hotel to single travellers too or those with families too

The hotel was just okay. Nothing outstanding. Can find better at a lower price. Location is within walking distance to CIQ and JB Sentral but the area is a bit rough. Paid for a room with a window only to have a view a dirty back alley. In the morning my room was filled with the smell of cooking from the restaurant next door.....not a nice thing.

The location is very strategic, walking distance from CIQ and 2 big malls.

The quality of the room is excellent for the paid price, clean and tidy. The interior is very simple.

The staff is extremly friendly and helpful. They know what the guest's nees.

This is my second time I stay in this hotel in the last 1 month.

The first time I stayed in superior room. It is just fit for 1 person and a bit too tight for 2 persons. I stayed in superior room because the hotel was full and that is the last room available.

This time I stay in Premium room. The size is good for 2 persons.

Really enjoy my stay in CIQ hotel

Stayed in this hotel for a night. The hotel has a nice design & concept. Booked through Agoda but had problem checking-in cause the hotel credit card system was having problem.

We had to wait awhile until they can contact their manager. We were so tired from the 3hrs queing at the custom and need the rooms to rest & refreshen up. Finally after putting the cash deposit of RM200 + tourist tax $20 for 2 rooms we were given the rooms key card & the TV remote control. While we wait for the credit card machine to be fixed & settle the room charged later.

When we got our rooms we were shock to see our rooms. Its too small and price is too high include tax 10% RM$178.80 per room for superior King with no view but a small window overlooking the interior of the hotel. (If standard room could have beed smaller) Its difficult to do prayers too. When asked the reception they suggest to go to the Surau which is at the lobby. It is so troublesome.

In the room they have complimentary 2 mineral water bottles. No kettle but a water dispenser for hot & cold at every level. If u want a cup of tea or coffee then need to go out from your room to get the hot water from the dispenser.

You need to request upon getting in the room for hangers, hairdryers, iron & ironboard (if needed).

We check-out the next day at 12noon for 1 room & extend 1 room untill 5pm. They charged RM10/hr per room.

Overall hotel rooms are clean, nice concept. Location next to Amari Hotel, all are walking distance to Komtar, City Square, Galleria@kotaraya, pasar karat.

Rooms:
Booked a family room and was given two interconnecting rooms with a double bed and 2 single bed.
Although the size of the room was not the biggest, it was comfortable enough for my family of 4. Bed was reasonable for my comfort. The rooms are clean and new which added on to the comfort level.

The biggest problem is perhaps the sound proofing. It was not able to keep the noise out from the main road. It was even more disturbing when the nearby clubs have their music on past midnight. I personally have some problem falling asleep at night even after 3am.

The rates was also reasonable it’s size.
I was surprise that the Housekeeping is only available upon request. My towels, toiletries and sheets were not replaced when I returned late at night. I was told it would only be done if I have inform the reception earlier in the day. However, I was not informed of this policy when I checked in.

Location:
Ideal location with many cafe within walking distance. City Square is also a stone throw with a small path (next to bank) that leads directly from Jalan Trus. The night market is also nearby.

Overall :

(+) Clean and new hotel
(+) Location near town , cafe and shopping mall
(+) nicely decorated boutique hotel

(-) the sound proofing is an issue for me and affected my sleep at night.
(-) the house keeping that is upon request

Verdict :
The sound proofing is enough to keep me away from this hotel. Unless you will not be woken up even by a bomb explosion, you should consider staying at a better hotel nearby.
