Went for the iftar on 3rd April with my team. Price wise was affordable but unfortunately the quality of food was below par. Tried the rendang and satay but the meats was tough to chew. Had the kambing golek & udang galah but sadly were tasteless.

1. Late check-in, we were there ard 3.30pm. Our room is still not ready, as well as 10 other guests, stranded at the lobby. 1st impression lasts, this definitely the 1st & last time here. They told me they would call once it's ready, no calls until we called them ourselves to confirm, it was about 7 pm. 2. Booked Exec Deluxe King with twin beds /double beds. We chose double. When we checked in, King bed looked like a queen & given 1 twin bed instead. Can you imagine 2 adults & 2 teens with 1 1/2 bed? 3. THE AIRCON! We can not adjust the aircon. We tried to adjust to the coldest settings, but the room is still set at 26°. Called the maintenance, no difference. We ended up sweating at night. Our room is 2019, 20th floor. When we asked the front desk why we could not adjust, he said it was centralised & and it's an old building. I've been to many hotels & this is the 1st time guests can not adjust the room aircon. 4. The phone in our room was not working, and I got feedback to the front desk. Nothing was done. We had to come down to the front desk when we needed help with the aircon, extra towels. By far the worst hotel. 5. The water dispenser had a weird after taste, like it hasn't been serviced for quite some time. 6. Mattress was hard, like really firm. Pillow was comfortable, though. 7. The only good thing here is the location, 5 minutes drive from CIQ. Near to malls, plaza Pelangi. Breakfast was ok, there were 2 types of bread, 3 pastries, a fruits section, salads, nasi lemak, lontong, porridge, more to Malaysian food. SGD200/NIGHT, Definitely not value for money. After all of this, do you still want to book at Trove Hotel? Do lower your expectations, more like 0 cause this Hotel Deserve to be 1 Star.

I had booked this room for Good Friday weekend and was impressed with the huge size of the Executive Deluxe room that comes with King and Single bed. We reached at about 11+ and understand that check in will only be available at 3pm, so we left our luggage and headed out to run errands. We came back at about 5.45pm ready to rest before breaking fast which we had also booked in advance for the Ramadhan buffet. We were given the access card for room 2119. Was videoing our journey to go in and to our surprised, room has not been cleaned or it has been entered by someone. I didnt step in further worrying that there might be other guest belongings hence I just took the photo from outside and went down. They took awhile to check and when I approached the staffs, they explained that there was an error. I asked so am I gonna be given the same room or another room and her reply was not sure. Of coz i dont want the same room as i think they will definitely rush to clean it and will not be properly cleaned. No apologies from the staff and we were then given another room 2419. We went up and Mr Kamarul, the manager waited for us at the lift lobby of level 24 to apologize for the error. I was more calm after he apologize and he explained the error and all we wanted is to check in after a long exhausting day with our stuffs. When we checked in, I had another surprise, 1st notice wet stains at the side table of the bed and best surprise is to see stains at the toilet seat and cover, i can say it looks more like a menses stain. I had to clean the seat myself. Pointless to call for someone to clean cause i called reception twice and there was no answer. The room was not cold either as it a centralized aircon and set at 28 deg. After the horrendous event, we went to their Ramadhan buffet which I must say is flavourful and has a lot of varieties. On our 2nd day, b4 leaving to run errands, we let the reception know on our concerns and they told me will get maintenance to check the aircon as well. When we came back with so many things on hand, we had issue with the card and was not able to open the door and had to go down again to get it checked. Room temp has no difference. This will definitely be our 1st and last time.

We are going to the Buffet Ramadhan on 26/03/2024z So far everything that been served was so good. Banyak sangat pilihan makanan.. Staff yang very helpfull.. polite..hall yang sangat selesa.. hotel room yang cantik and selesa. my company was so satisfied. Great job TROVE HOTEL. Will repeat again next year.

We will meet and welcome by duty manager Mr Kamaru during our check in. He has carefully decorated our room for our Birthday and Anniversary celebration. Mr Kamaru toke time to speak to us the next day and make sure everything is alright and make necessary arrangements to my suggestions. Had a wonderful and memorable stay at Trove hotel.

I was sceptical about having a stay at TROVE Johor Bahru after reading mixed reviews. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead with an overnight stay on a Friday weekend. TROVE Johor Bahru, formerly known as Hotel Selesa and Metropolis Tower was refurbished in late 2018. This property is managed by Care Luxury Hotels & Resorts, which also operates Hotel Granada Johor Bahru (Bukit Indah) and Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort - Tioman Island & Desaru. I boarded myBAS T11 from JB Sentral and alighted at a bus stop outside the property. The fare costs RM1.20. I arrived at the reception at 4pm, which the check in was fuss-free. Apart from the RM10 tourism tax, there is no deposit required for hotel incidentals during my stay here. The rooms start from the 12th to 27th floor. I was accommodated in a Standard Twin Room (No. 1502) situated at level 15. The room is spacious at 26 square metres, although I wished more space could have been allocated for the bathroom. The room was clean and I felt comfortable walking on its non-carpeted floor. I am glad my stay was peaceful and I had a restful sleep here. I am impressed that this hotel uses Sony SMART TV, a premium brand. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. The room is equipped with one universal power socket and a USB charging port at the bedside. Similar to many 4-star properties, the room amenities include mini fridge, electronic safe, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries, disposable slippers, coffee and tea. Although there is no kettle, an alkaline water dispenser is provided which offers both hot and room temperature water. In the bathroom, there is a rain shower in addition to the handheld one. I am pleased the shower pressure was very good and the warm water was adequate. The swimming pool, fitness centre and restaurant are located on the 8th floor. There is a convenience store on the ground floor, while Borneo Oasis Spa (Opens from 11am to 12 midnight) sits on the first level. For dining, you can check out 3littlechef Café (Opens 9am to 7pm). You will also be delighted to know that a weekend buffet is served at the hotel restaurant at RM45 nett for lunch and RM55 for dinner. Room service is also available between 7am and 10.30pm at the hotel. The menu comprises of Western and Asian food such as Spring Roll, Fries, Soup, Burger, Pizza, Pasta, Fried Rice and Mee Goreng. I did not have my breakfast at the hotel. Instead, I headed to a Muslim food stall, Simple Nasi Lemak, located opposite the hotel. For more dining options, you can take a 10 mins (550m) walk to Taman Pelangi. Over there, you will find mainly local eateries such as Restoran Kak Kak (Dim Dum) and Restoran E&Y Sahul (Indian Muslim). While my stay is largely fine, there was a power failure which had occured at 5pm. Fortunately, it was quickly rectified within 30 mins. That said, the room maintenance needs to be improved. The shower head fitting is defective, which resulted in water being sprouted out from its gap. Both the wash basin tap and toilet roll holder fittings are also loose and could have been tightened properly. Additionally, some wear and tear were spotted on the shelves below the wash basin. Overall, my stay experience would have been better if not marred by these maintenance issues. With more new hotel openings in the coming years, the hotel must remain competitive in its pricing to stay at the top of the game. For now, TROVE Johor Bahru remains a fine stay for travellers seeking an accommodation in the city centre.

We came as 2 adults and 2 kids (1 year old and a 3 year old) Judging by the photos, it looks like a decent hotel. But once again I was proved that photos can be deceiving. Moment we arrived, at 3 pm (way passed the check-in timing) hotel has bad lighting, and a lot of their corners are so dark. Their service of checking us in we're so slow, knowing no one else was checking in beside us. But nevermind, we still gave the benefit of the doubt. Upon getting our keys, we had to go up and use the elevator. And let me tell you how crazy scary their elevator is. It makes a lot of weird scary noises, and felt like it was ging to go down so suddenly. And while we were entering the elevator, it was swinging from front to back. Reached the hotel room, and truly cannot fathom how crazy dark and dirty the hotel room is. Both me and my husband have allergy rhinitis were a bit of dust will affect us entirely. 5 minutes when we entered, me and my husband were both whizzing our noses off, and just know how dusty and dirty the room is. Bed was so hard, and the walls were so thin we can hear our neighboring guests talk. And they're not even shouting! Service was also so slow there was no towels in our room. We had to call the reception to send us some towels and water bottles, and they only came after 2 hours and after 3 calls. Really so unprofessional. In conclusion, I do not recommend this hotel at all. But hopeful that their service will be better next time.

Room is clean but very dark. However, it's next to a road, and the noise is very bad, especially motorbikes zooming whole night. Our room also has an adjoining door and you can hear the exact conversation of the neighbour. Had a screaming baby at 1am for 2hrs and from 6am. Free parking. Breakfast has variety but mostly empty trays and very slow to top up. Not worth the price. We could not rest well.

I read the positive reviews and decided to give this hotel a try. However, I was treated to a terrible experience - Cons: 1. Rooms had a strong stench of moth balls the moment we opened the door. Makes me wonder if the had some infestation. I think the smell came from the toilet. 2. Poor lighting. Only 2 small spotlights at the front of room and bed top... bed side reading lights were broken. Toilet shower area no lights. Only light was at the basin area. 3. Room phone not working, it had a very loud buzzing sound when we tried to use it. 4. Mini fridge not working, it was turned on to cool but remained warm. 5. We wanted to cool our drinks, as the phone wasn't working we went down to front desk to ask for some ice to be delivered to our room. We were told to go to level 8 to request for ice. We did, and were told the ice will be delivered up. We went back to our room, and after a while the phone rang, but of course since it wasn't working we couldn't hear what the person was saying except for the loud buzzing sound. After a few attempted calls, a lady staff came up to inform us that the ice machine has broken down ( as with everything in this hotel sooner rather than later, I am sure). We explained the fridge isn't working we just needed some ice to cool our drinks. She understood our fridge and phone were not working and told us to give us a few minutes, she will speak to boss and come back. Of course SHE NEVER CAME BACK. And our phone wasn't working so we gave up. Very poor customer service. 6. Poor sound proofing, I could hear next room, the child woke at 4am plus and her parents were speaking to her. Also vehicle sounds can be heard at night. I was given a room on level 26. Pros: 1. Fast check in and out 2. Breakfast was enjoyable 3. Free car parking, although the ramp is pretty narrow so be careful of oncoming cars and of scratching your car You can see why I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone, or maybe just to the people I do not like. My first review was removed, I hope this doesn't happen again.
