My Husband and I decided to do a gate away recently and I must say, we were not disappointed with our decision, however there are a few areas of improvement that the Dusun team may need to look into. We had a lovely drive up to this environmental friendly place. I must say, everything about this place is scenic. The...

Your review was very useful to us and I am pleased to tell you that we spent a week in October renovating the house, rebuilding the deck and balustrades, oiling and polishing the floors and replacing fixtures in the bathroom. We love timber houses, but they do require constant maintenance and I am sorry that we were tardy with repairs...

We stayed in the Berembun house, which has direct access to the upper pool. Pro - near the reception and dining patio, so everything was within reach. The direct access to the pool was also a plus point. Con - Things can get a bit noisy, especially when other guests are swimming. The water pressure in the shower was rather...

I am really glad you enjoyed your stay - and the durians! One of the joys of the Dusun is the fruit season. We have around 9 acres of mature fruit trees, mostly durians, but also mangosteens, dokong and rambutans, and guests are welcome to roam around and collect their own or help themselves to what we provide on the...

As I have 1 day to spare after a church retreat in Melaka, I decided to have a 1 night stay at the Dusun. I made my reservation about 3 months in advance (there were only 6 villas and they went off very fast) without a hitch. As I have 2 grown up children, I decided to book Perling I...

This review is based on the terrible customer service I received from the Dusan staff. I had previously stayed at the Dusan twice and was booking for my third, unfortunately due to the staff terrible customer service the third occasion did not occur and I'm writing this review to make other travelers aware that this could happen to them! After...

We were in the wrong with this one. The booking letter asked him to pay by 31 May and he paid by 30 May. Sot we should not have cancelled the booking - regardless of any telephone calls which took place. Our sincere apologies to this guest. But just to explain - when bookings are requested a week or less...

Stayed in Berembun and the whole stay was still pleasant and quiet even-though it was fully booked! I must say we really enjoyed the easy access to the pool and we love the sun deck adjoined to Berembun. We had a great bbq dinner on the first nite (chicken skewers, wrapped siakap/barramundi, roasted pumpkins & potatoes) for RM160. The staff...

We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Even loved the blackout! Occasionally, we have tree falls on the road from Pantai, which knocks out the power supply. But we have solar lights on each deck that you can bring into the house if necessary.I would also advise guests to bring repellant for walking around. In the rooms we...

The Dusun is the ideal place for people looking for an escape from the hustle bustle of city life. The air is fresh, the view from our unit is stunning. This is the best way to get close to nature. We had a 2-night stay in The Dusun, Tembusu House. Our house is a double storey unit. The living area...

Thank you for your review. You have the "Dusun" attitude of sharing space with other living things - we like that. Thanks for your feedback too - we have replaced the knife and we are working on tailoring a new net.

We stayed at the Tembusu Room for one night to experience the natural surrounding and indeed it was a pleasant one. I would urge visitors to read the FAQ from their website and be mentally prepared it is not meant to be a spa resort so some furnitures may look a bit run-down and rustic: - Mosquitoes: there are really...

I do not know about the other houses but I do feel Perling Bukit needs spring cleaning. By saying that, I can pass the stains on the mattress at the window, stains on the curtains, the dirt inside the candle holder and the dark pans. I CAN'T pass the dirt at the opening of the water dispenser. Felt eerie each...

If you are looking to surrender yourself to nature, The Dusun is where you should be. Staying at The Dusun is quite simply an experience beyond anything we expected. The peace and tranquillity is overwhelming. The location is amazing. What appears to be quite odd and restrictive pre-conditions to your stay, are obvious and necessary when you get there and absorb the atmosphere around you. The open architecture of our villa only adds to the relaxing...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Dusun is a small resort on a fruit orchard with views of the Berembun rainforest reserve. Set on a small hill, the Dusun rents out houses that are set apart from each other not only to offer peace and privacy, but also to catch the winds with traditional architecture and enjoy lovely views. Each house has a fully equipped kitchen for those who love to cook and a barbecue on an open deck for lingering dinners. Breakfast is provided while lunch and dinner can be catered if you prefer not to cook.We are just an hour south of Kuala Lumpur. KLIA or Kuala Lumpur International airport is in between us and Kuala Lumpur city so we're the perfect nature escape for those in transit who would prefer to give the city a miss. The Dusun honors sustainable practices in farming and building, which has created a beautiful and healthy environment. As the family enjoys a good relationship with the local community, the business only hires from the nearby kampungs and shops from small entrepreneurs or other interesting responsible businesses as much as possible. All activities that guests enjoy here were created to raise awareness of Malaysia’s beautiful natural heritage and support local traditions, communities and NGOs. ... more   less
