Booked in for 5 nights to do a visa run. A great location about 10 minutes in a taxi to Royal Thai Embassy Penang. Same to the party area of George Town. Rooms are a bit tired but clean and comfy although bed was only a double so my feet hung out a little. No room safe or fridge the...

Together with friends, we checked into this hotel for a 4 nights stay . The hotel is well located in Georgetown and is close to nice restaurants and hawker centres and also within walking distance to several heritage areas . The hotel room is basic but clean and comfortable considering the price. The bathroom is rather outdated and the towels...

I stayed at the 1926 for 11 days for a conference at the beginning of August. The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are a little dated (not bad for 89 years old), but are clean. Housekeeping refreshed the room daily (Changed bedding/towels. Replenished water bottles and tea/coffee). Always smiled and...

For £22 a night, I am not going to set the bar too high. This hotel is average in most aspect. I paid extra to get a "cottage" room, which is slightly bigger than a normal room, but there is still no bath. Decoratively, the room is kind of tired but the biggest issue I have is one with safety,...

Stayed for 3 nights in July. Check in was easy as our room is prepaid. However we still had to fork over RM100 refundable deposit and a RM6 for the state tax. Despite my request for a king size bed during online booking, room 110 on the ground floor ‎came with 2 singles. The flooring in the room as well...

This hotel is probably the cheapest hotel in a central location that has a swimming pool so if a pool is what you need, you can't go wrong. However, it goes downhill in all other areas. We stayed in a mid-range triple room but it seems pretty much the same as the low-range triple. Matttress was rock hard (perfect for...

We spend 2 nights here and stay at family rooom with 3 queen beds. Wifi is okay. The room is quiet and we feel safe. One of the receptionist (indian) is friendly but others are not really friendly. The hotel manager took a picture of us and he's nice and warm 😊 Affordable price and the pool is just nice....

Got a deal in groupon, stayed in a superior room with an extra bed. Newly renovated so the room was nice though cramped. Could do better with the toilets. Conveniently enough for food and essentials. Breakfast was suprisingly good though limited. Overall a good stay. And Him Heang is just opposite them. Wanted to book for the 2nd time but...

The room was clean and reasonably priced, the pool was nice, (though it closes at 7PM which was inconvenient as I like to relax and swim in the evenings) The staff was very helpful and polite. I was able to park my rented motorbike by the security guardhouse (though I had to rent it elsewhere). I recommend this place. you...

The 1926 Heritage Hotel has just undergone a refurbishing program which involves changing of all furniture an bedding in all categories of room, the basic amenities are 32" LCD flat panel TVs, tea and coffee making and mini fridge (with the exception of standard room and cottage room) Free wi-fi is standard feature in all rooms and in the public areas. The original building was built in 1926, the property once served as a home to British colonial immigration officers and local administrators of Penang. Located off Imigresen Road and Burma Road, 1926 Heritage Hotel occupies 24 heritage link houses beautifully restored to its former glory. In 1999 The State Government of Penang under PDC (Penang Development Corporation) invested a significant amount of funds to refurbish this colonial property as a heritage hotel with most of its Anglo-Malay architectural essence still intact. Surrounded by spacious rooms, wooden interiors, long corridors, balmy balconies, beautiful victorian windows as well as pictures of the old Penang, a sense of nostalgia can be felt throughout the property. And we top that experience with warm, friendly service. The Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the historic city of Georgetown, founded in 1786 by Captain Francis Light. Listed as a UNESCO heritage city, Georgetown is a one of a kind melting pot of cultures, heritage, foods and festivals from diverse communities.1926 Heritage Hotel is all about bringing you the wholesome experience of the British colonial era and the spirit of Malaysian hospitality from the very moment you step into our lobby. We at 1926 Heritage Hotel are ever ready to go the extra mile to ensure your stay with us will be most memorable. Your satisfaction is our number one priority and we hope that every second you spend with us will be filled with nostalgia of the colonial era. ... more   less
