Penang offer an eclectic mix of sophisticated suites, refurbished shophouses and heritage hotels filled with history from the yesteryears. Dwell by Palanquinn caught my attention while i was filtering through the choices of lodging in Penang. Dwell is located in Lorong Bangkok, just on the outskirts of Georgetown. Stepping into Lorong Bangkok, you can't help but notice the two rows...

A little off the beaten path, but a wonderful place to stay. The quiet street is beautiful, composed of renovated beautiful old George Town houses, and you are quite close to several hawker markets. The main part of George Town is an easy bus ride away. The rooms are comfortable (we had the two rooms upstairs), clean, and large. The...

We booked this place for a weekend in Penang because Dwell at Palanquin happens to be my aunts old family home, which I visited often as a child. We were welcomed by someone from the hotel at the airport and taken to the hotel. To clarify, this is not so much a hotel as a collection of rooms in beautifully...

I stayed at the Loft Suite for 2 nights. First i would like to say that the place is converted from a local house and hence you will experience a local stay. It strikes me as a more well-endowed and spacious version of a traditional shophouse. If you are uncomfortable with the authenticity of the shophouses such as the wooden...

This place is in a great location, the staff are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Service was wonderful and the room was very well kept and clean. A short walk from excellent food markets, bars and other eateries. Excellent value for money.

Stayed at this home in Bangkok lane in penang just to get away from the busy life. Before stepping into the home, the beauty of heritage houses has already mesmerised me. The kind manager had a nice welcome with clear instructions on checking in as it was a late check in. The place is kept really clean and the interior...

The room gave us a very familiar , conservatives feeling that we have lost a long time ago...

I was intrigued from the website, as it looked like a cool stay, but the reality was totally different! There were a number of issues- 1. Safety As a single woman, I honestly did not feel safe-the bathroom was on a balcony with wide slats between the shades (anyone would be able to see through at night when the bath...

This hotel utilizes a nice heritage building on a lovely street full of them. My flight was delayed and I called them to let them know. They left the key for me with all their instructions. The room was nice but the bathroom felt like it was outside and the quality was lower than that of the room. During rain,...

DWELL is 3-bedroom retro-esque, fun, casual and affordable bed and breakfast. Located a stone’s throw from sister property, PalanquInn, DWELL is part of Bangkok Lane’s marvellous row of heritage townhouses. conceptualized for today’s growing flashpackers.A flashpacker shares many of the characteristics of a backpacker: independence, no fixed itinerary and long periods of travel to more exotic and far-flung destinations.
