Is a pity that a wonderful hotel like this has that management. The manager was on leave the day we were there and after three times requesting to talk to Him/Her nobody from management showed up. After not listening to our complaints, and a few days later we receive an insulting email that has the worst attitude that any GM...

Last week we spent 3 beautiful nights in this delightful, posh and sophisticated boutique hotel. Located in Macalister Street, this 8 only rooms boutique hotel has a lot to offer. It has a nice pool, with pool bar, a little gym room, a whiskey bar, a normal bar, a fine lunch/dinner and breakfast bistrot and a very elegant French style...

Had the opportunity to stay in this restored colonial-era mansion on Macalister Road in Penang, in the Georgetown heritage zone. Georgetown is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and since its listing, plenty of heritage and historical mansions have been restored or converted for use. This one here was likely a former residence of a tycoon but has been...

Came here for the high tea. Expected nothing less and they turned out to be pretty fine. Cosy interiors that are tastefully done. The cost of high tea for two was 88 myr. About 8-10 myr cheaper than other places with similar offerings. The coffee and especially the green tea with a hint of vanilla was memorable. And all the...

With only 8 rooms, Macalister Mansion is Malaysia's only design hotel - and it is beautiful! Beds and linens are luxurious. Bathrooms with twin vanities are stylish and spacious - good quality bath products too. Mini-bar, tea and espresso coffee are included in the price and so is breakfast - which gets bonus points because it's available until 12 noon....

Great place for design lovers. Design by ministry of design. The minibar- cakes drink-coffee is free and it makes the experience great. The room is very very large. The bathroom is amazing. I wanna have stayed longer. The restaurant was very good but they had no beef at all that day on the menu. It is a shame for a...

The place is very well kept. Loved the bar area it exhumed luxury. The evening dining area was bland compared to it. The waiter forgot my order and only realized it after both my father and aunt finished their meals but mine hadn't arrived yet. When it arrived arrived it was cold. The fish was good though. Service was on...

Small hotel with ony 8 very large rooms and correspondingly large bathrooms. Well thought out design throughout. Everything worked. Wifi was a bit slow but if you're on a vacation, this should be a minor inconvenience. The informal cafe served an adequate breakfast which equipped you well for a day's touring of he nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown....

It's a semi buffet style. Was good but it was very expensive. The foods are okay but no special uniqueness. The desserts are good for some extensive exploration but the served meals are not special at all. However, this place is worthwhile for its location and atmosphere. There are normal dining area and fine dining areas. The fine dining seems...

Booked this hotel via SPG as it was one of only two SPG hotels in Penang. What a find! Absolutely charming boutique hotel with only 8 rooms. A renovated colonial mansion with a marvelous contemporary interior. Wonderfully designed with great attention to details. Two very good restaurants as well; had one of my best meals ever in the Dining Room....
