This does meet Shangri-la standards. Property oversold and many of the resources failed to deliver the basics expected of 2* hotels. Food in restaurants expensive and inconsistent. Avoid the hotel if you pay 5* and expect 5*.

I had really good memory about KK because when I went on biz trip to KK 3 years ago, I saw unforgettable beautiful sunset at Le Meridien hotel at KK. But, this time I had bad memory. This hotel had terrible housekeeping services which I hardly believe it was 5 stars hotel. I traveled more than 20 different countries and... More

Visited with family in April. We celebrated birthdays and an anniversary at the hotel and were pampered by the staff. Excellent service from all staff members. Very accommodating with vegetarian food options. A welcoming reception on check in and clean rooms. lots of activities for children. the new children's water playground is awesome.

This is a large hotel which seems to be well set up for families. We were on honeymoon and had been staying in much smaller resorts until we got to Shangri La Tanjung Aru so it was a bit of a change of pace for us. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Check in was quick and we were... More

We are staying her with 2 other couples and are extremely disappointed with the standards of this hotel. It is definitely not the same standard as the other Shangri-La hotels. Over the last 2 days they have : 1) delivered our food late at every meal 2) food tasted lousy despite the long wait 3) not brought food we ordered... More

There is nothing too bad about this hotel though the food quality is not very good and the staff are not very friendly and helpful. The only problem is the quality of the guests!!!! Avoid this hotel in summer holiday season if you are european. Too many guests from China and Japan are behaving like being at home. Beware of families with small children, it's a real problem. Although they are also foreigners in Malaysia they behave like at home and this is hardly acceptable.
