We stayed there to get our Open Water scuba diving certification. It's highly recommended to get an ocean-facing room, which takes in a good view of KK's water front and the pasar. The location is good, as it is a walking distance from well-known eateries and a short ride to the jetty. The service was also satisfactory.

As others have said, the lobby has the wow factor and looks very grand, however the rooms do not match this. I was annoyed at check in. I arrived at 14.30 and was told a room wouldn't be available for another 1 hour 45 minutes and would I go to the lounge. I wasn't impressed by this. Check in starts...

We spent six nights here, staff and service very good. Staff arranged taxi, advised on price and arranged for the driver to wait if we were at a location where no taxis available. Breakfast Buffet had great variety with daily changes to the menu. The Night Market is on directly opposite, full of interesting sights, tastes etc every evening. A...

The location is right in the center of KK. Make sure to get a room overlooking the harbor and the ocean. I went there for a meeting conference and the facilities were fine. The service was okay but nothing special. I was annoyed by the front desk wanting me to pay for an upgrade because my room was not available...

This is my 1st visit to Kota Kinabalu. My original plan was to stay at the Shangri-La Tg Aru but had to change plan as their swimming pool was under renovation (and beside, I heard it's Rm30 for a short taxi journey out to town and a Rm20 back...that's Rm50 sunk cost for a dinner trip to town) ... and...

Rooms are spacious and a great seaview. But the furniture needs some upgrading - very 80s and looks in need of repairs. Very prompt room service. Great location within KK central, walking distance to malls, eateries and local shops, pasar malam, handicraft centre. Swimming pool looks smaller than the pictures suggest. Check in took longer than usual but generally smooth.
