I am actually writing this review at the hotel computer, driven to it by insanity. What is wrong with La Pirogue? Firstly it’s a 4 star hotel in disguise. I would actually rate it as a three star or less. The reasons are that the accommodation/food and service are below the standards expected. The rooms whilst comfortable are out dated...

The Le Pirogue hotel is exceptional. We had just moved from a very poor sister Hotel and we were very surprised how much better this hotel was. Le Pirogue is a 4* hotel with a 5* service. The Villa rooms are incredible. The rooms are huge with large walk in dressing room/bathrooms. The service is excellent and the surroundings are...

(I'm actually overthe hill at 49 now!) The good stuff first : The hotel is well appointed and has a sense of luxury about it. The grounds are superb and the beach well maintained - the beach hawkers are not too intrusive and quite add to the atmosphere. The bars are everything you would hope in terms of comfort and...

I am very suprised by the last entry on this site. My wife and i have just returned from La Pirogue and found the entire experience an absolute pleasure. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly and efficient staff. From the waiters to the room staff, from the beach trolley guy to the lady at the towel...

I have trouble understanding the raving reviews about this hotel. The only explenation I can find is that most reviewers on this site have been to this hotel for a 'special occassion' and are not really habitual 4 or 5 star hotel visitors. Besides: on your honeymoon everything probably looks better anyway. I visited this hotel on my way home...

My husband and I got married at La Pirogue in March 2008. The hotel arranged everything for our wedding and we couldn’t have hoped for anything more. We did not have to worry about anything as it was all taken care of by the Wedding Coordinator. The flowers and cake were lovely and I have seen nothing as good at...

Just returned after a week of absolute pleasure. The service levels in general were superb. Everyone of the staff members we met were very freindly and always had a smile and willing to assist. The rooms were very clean. The food was excellent. The only gripe we have is that prices of drinks were very high Can highly recommend the...

Just back from a two week break on an All Inclusive basis. We had a bit of rain which was to be expected and gave us just enough time to do some sightseeing. La Pirogue is a very relaxed hotel with small bungalow style rooms in a lush, green setting on its private beach. Yes the sand is a bit...

My wife and I went to La Pirogue in Mauritius for our honeymoon. We stayed from the 4th March until 17th March. Upon arriving, one of the staff at the entrance to the hotel rang a bell which seemed to set off a chain reaction of events. The bell boy came and collected our luggage for us, whilst another staff...

We booked a stay at La Pirogue through Travelocity, and received a voucher. Then when we showed up in Mauritius, no one met us as arranged and when we phoned said they had no room available . WE were rebooked in a much lesser hotel with a miniscule beach on the opposite coast--the windy side of the island. We had...
