For one of the priciest hotels on the island, our experience was not good. My review is with this price in context. Ultimately, there are superior hotels on the island. We spent an hour or so with the hotel manager after we checked out to explain our experience and get some reasons why the service was so bad, to which he was shocked, apologised profusely and said that some of these issues were unacceptable and part of old legacy training, staff recruitment and not to the service level he wants. Good things - generous sized rooms and a beautiful restaurant (bara chois). The hotel itself is beautiful but that should be expected as all hotels at this level use good architects and interior designers. I did find it small though as I personally prefer more grounds to explore. The welcome reception was great, the hotel manager came down and greeted us and we had the usual welcome drinks (which was lovely) and detailed introduction to the hotel/room. Boat house activities were good Has kids facilities which is a good and bad thing as you can expect screams everywhere I did have some good service experiences but on the whole there were far more poor service experiences than good. Bad things - a few instances of staff saying no to basic requests, for example asking for lemon juice, menus, drink and food selection and room set up/configuration all had push back when initially requested. None of these requests were unreasonable - requested glasses at breakfast that never came, hot drinks at dinner were declined as they had no coffee machine at the restaurant and inability to get a lunch menu at the main restaurant. As these requests were basic and the hotel manager agreed it was not good enough from them. Our room had poor amenities don’t expect designer shower gels/shampoos it’s all generic hotel branded stuff. There was no dental, shaving and shoe cleaning kits in the room, I had to request these and the slippers you get looked ugly, shiny and cheap. There were no plug sockets by the bedside (so its hard to charge your phone), some rooms have a plug extension box on one bedside which we were promised would arrive and get installed but never did. The bathroom fittings are not luxurious, don’t expect Villeroy Boch, Duravit or Dorn Bracht, it’s all fairly old and mid market branded sanitary/brass ware, including no soft close on the toilet seat (annoying when you drop it thinking it’s soft close and it slams down and wakes your other half up!). We had a Bluetooth speaker in our room which was very dusty and I don’t think the housekeeping team cleaned it in months. Housekeeping was very average, some areas where I expected to be cleaned and tided were not and we didn’t receive a turn down on the final night. Don’t expect wifi everywhere you go in the resort we only got it in the buildings. The funny thing was that the beach we had to our room didn’t pick up the wifi but it picked up the wifi from another hotel (le saint geran) across the bay! I did get wifi in most places on the main beach though, but none at the bara chois restaurant and hardly any when walking in between room, spa, gym and main lobby. The breakfast food selection is limited, not much on offer and only buffet, so no a la carte alternatives. Lacked/limited selection on porridge/cold meats/pastries/breads and fruits. When we did ask for things to be made as a request, these were declined. To repeat what we asked for are basic things, like lemon juice or coconut on your crepes! The staff take a long time to clear your plates and don’t replenish your cutlery when they take it so when I got more food and come back to table and had to find a waiter to get me cutlery so I could eat. Please note, that in most hotels in Mauritius you will eat outside and birds get to your food if you leave it unattended like when trying to chase waiters. Also, we asked for some water at one point and instead of the waiter getting it for us he told us we can get it from across the room and serve ourselves. This hotel was not worth the money, which was a real shame as it is a nice hotel just not great and little I experienced justified the price I paid/it charges.…
We had an incredibly wonderful vacation at Prince Maurice. The entire team from the reception to the Golf team are just amazing. The joy of work, the courtesy, the desire that we all enjoy our vacation is phenomenal
We ve spent 4 nights over there. The service in particular in this hotel is stunning, nothing wrong about that. The place is beautiful very natural. Both pools are spectural with sea and beach views. If I had to say something maybe on a bad point it's the beach side, the water is not that claer comparate for exemple to the Morne in the West of Maurice. But I recommand 100% constance Prince in Maurice. Restaurants also are very good and a great experience for us. Thank you
This was our best ever holiday considering customer care, location, quality of food and wine, the cellar, head sommelier and Nadya, all fantastic. We enjoy every moment, on the beach with your guys serving drinks, fresh coconut, fresh pineapple, cleaning my sun glasses, on dinners in Barachois which is amazing experiencie looking at floating restaurant among mangroves, on the breakfast with variety of food, in the cellar with Nadya. Apart of location, there are people your biggest assets which is reason for us to come back. Brava
The hotel itself is super clean and beautiful. It’s colonial style, thus everything is a bit dark – also the rooms. If you like it, its good, however I would have preferred something less dark. The rooms a quite specious, with a large bathroom. However, even though there is a door into the bathroom and another one at the toilet you can hear everything… Also we had a ground floor room and could hear everything from the room above, so I recommend to take a room on the second floor or a private villa. The stuff is super friendly, the food was super nice, apart from the Asian Restaurant, there the sushi was good, the rest rather mediocre. Every night there was a different live music. Some were exceptionally good, others just ok. Even though the hotel was full, there was never a feeling of a lot of people. The hotel area is quite large; thus, you never see a lot of people. The gym and the spa are very good. Lovely treatments at the spa and the gym is very well equipped. The stuff here are super friendly. I would have liked some more complementary yoga classes. The beach has nice sand and a lot of sunbeds and because it’s quite large, you always find a sunbed, and don’t have to be very early. However, the water is not as nice as at some other parts of the island. The hotel is located at a bay; thus, the water is not as clear and blue as what you would expect here, but more cloudy. And especially in the afternoon the water gets quite warm – I liked it, but if you want a cooling, it’s not really happening. However, they offer a lot of complementary water sports, like water skiing, sailing, stand-up paddle boards etc. which is nice. The location of the hotel is quite secluded, thus close by there aren’t any things to eat, or shop or anything. You would need a taxi or a car to go anywhere – but you don’t necessarily have to leave the hotel, since there is everything, you need to spend a wonderful vacation.…
The hotel is amazing ! We had a great time . Service impeccable and friendly . The beach is fantastic very quiet and there’s space for everyone by the pool. The room we stayed had garden view but was very relaxed and beautiful. The spa team are fantastic couldn’t be more friendly . The food was good specially in the Asia restaurant and breakfast had gluten free options . Overall amazing experience if you looking for peace and quiet times .
We stayed in Prince Maurice for 7 days. We got villa on the stalls. First of all our villa was amazing, great location, next to barachois( little lagoon). Every morning I could see different fish swimming next to my balcony, so beautiful! Villas on stalls has a lot of privacy too. We were on all inclusive package, it was totally worth it. We had access to very good wine list with few nice champagne wines. All the restaurants food wise were super good, especially main -Archipel. Breakfast was nice, not super big choice but enough for us to choose from. Our list favourite was Asian restaurant. They also have stunning floating Barachois restaurant and floating bar. Both are located on the lagoon and give you out of this world experience. Beach is very good, white sand, very clean, no corals or stones in the water, easy to get in the water. Service on the beach was sometimes slow, we couldn’t see waiter and pressed button for waiter few times within 20 min with no luck, but it changed after we mentioned this small issue. All the personnel are super nice, friendly and highly professional. I lost my bag in the bathroom but they handle it very well and it was sorted out very fast (special thank to waiter Guillaume). We had spa visit for a couple massage, which I also highly recommend, it was nice and relaxing experience. We are very happy with our stay and definitely will come back soon.…
Our second time at the hotel- no complaint at all. Everything was wow. The whole team is welcoming, attentive and always ensuring that our family is spending a good time there. Beautiful location and food is amazing but above all, the service is excellent- the people there makes the difference. On the overall, we had a great customer experience! Thank you for the surprise - I wanted to celebrate my birthday at Le Barachois and no table was available at time of booking but they arranged it for us. Big thank you! Special credit to Imtihaaz, Mehess and Vikram.
It was easily the best hotel we've ever been to. The whole staff were super nice, everyone was very attentive and kind. The hotel itself is beautiful (as all Constance resorts), and the location is very special, with not only a nice beach, but also with a lagoon and the Flying Fish restaurant. I cannot imagine how the whole experience can be even better.
Can’t think of a nicer way of passing a few hours than enjoying the sunset cruise on the new Prince Maurice catamaran with friends. Fabulous boat, immaculately clean and very comfortable. . A totally relaxing experience, looked after by the highly professional boat team, who were great, our thanks to them both, whilst watching the sun go down over the mountains and enjoying the beautiful mauritius coast line. Definitively comes highly recommended by us.
