Co-owner Valerie went out of her way to make sure we were well taken care of - in a discrete, non-imposing manner. Staff were helpful with taxi bookings, advice about getting in and about Essaouira, and got up earlier than usual to make sure we got breakfast when we had early appointments. We loved the modern restoration of this delightful...

Hard to say why we loved this place so much but we did! Everything about the Riad is stylish and appropriate - we spent 3 nights in the Blonde room which we would seriously recommend. Great value too . Imagine it would be very very cosy with the fire on although due to excellent insulation might get pretty hot Downstairs...

A stylish riad with charm located in the old town of Essaouira. Luxury rooms where you can unwind wonderfully. Rich and healthy breakfast, everything was fresh. Friendly and cosy service, which makes you feel that you are at ease.

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday in this amazing place. Dar les Sirenes is beautiful! Essaouira is a maze of tiny alleyways, busy with people, bikes and hand carts. When we arrived the taxi dropped us at one of the entrances to the walled town and Said, the manager greeted us and loaded our luggage onto a cart. We...

Rue Chbanate is accessed via one of the gates into the Medina and Les Sirenes is about a 10 minute walk from the Supratours bus station and situated about half way along Rue Chbanate. Said met us at the bus station and guided us to Les Sirenes but once we became familiar with the route it was very simple to...

We had a lovely stay in Dar les Sirenes - the location is perfect, a few minutes walk away from the main souks and the port, but on a quieter street. The rooms were elegantly decorated, in a sparse but stylish style and I loved the roof terrace and the communal sofas by the fire. The hosts were very friendly...

Lovely people, great beds, incredible ambience - i can still smell the hypnotizing aromas after being gone for days. Not in the best part of town, but makes it all more enjoyable to enter each time and well worth it. I visit essaouira often, have stayed in numerous places and can tell you that this is a place that stays...

This stunning town house in the heart of Essaouira is a typical Riad refurbished by Italian architect Eduardo in a beautiful traditional style. Its three floors with cascading balconies overlook a fabulous interior courtyard where you can relax by the fireplace in deep armchairs with a pot of sweet mint tea and pour over Eduardo's coffee-table-book collection of Morrocan architecture...

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Les Serenes. We were very well looked after by Saif who was very and helpful and considerate. We stayed in the nice Blonde room and enjoyed being warmed by the fireplace on chilly evenings. The Riad is small and stylish and we would certainly come back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Riad boutique in the medina of Essaouira. Les Sirenes welcome you in an intimate and elegant atmosphere inside the medina of Essaouira. The Space Les Sirenes welcomes you to a cosy, elegant setting inside the medina of Essaouira. An old dar, next to the city walls, has been finely restored in contemporary style by Italian architect Edoardo Miotti. Unexpected external openings render its spaces large and bright. The use of pale colours and traditional Moroccan materials like tadelakt and thuja, create a warm, restful atmosphere. By day you can enjoy the sun on the large terrace and by night you can relax in front of the fire in the living room on the ground floor or in the privacy of your room. Five rooms, each furnished with its own personality, are located on the first and second floor of the house. Rooms are heated, have all comforts and have a private bathroom with a shower or bathtub. "Noiraude" is a small room on two floors with a three-quarter bed. It has two large windows that open onto the outside and a bathroom with a bathtub. It is ideal for one person or a couple on their honeymoon. "Sauvage" is a double room with a view over the city walls. It is furnished in African style and has a modern bathroom with shower. "Rousse" is one of the two suites, with a double bed, fireplace and bathroom with a bathtub. The space features a large window that makes it bright and cool in summer months. "Brune" is a very bright twin room and has a bathroom with a shower. "Blonde" is the second floor suite separated from the other spaces in the house by a large window. It has a lounge with a fireplace and a small private terrace. The bathroom has a shower. Sleeps up to three. Riad les Sirenes is located to the north of the medina of Essaouira, near the large square of Bab Marrakech. Enter through the small door you see in the wall after Bab Marrakech and follow the road. The Dar is number 59 Rue Chbanate. Les Sirenes organises transfers from Essaouira, Marrakech and Casablanca airports. ... more   less
